About Me
CURRENT MISSION
In Bergen, Norway for the month. Take me to your fjords!
ABOUT ME
I come from wonderful Johannesburg, and I live in strange but beautiful Cape Town in a little wooden house on a mountain overlooking the sea. In spring I see about five whales a day. And there are looooads of sharks at the beach below my house, but I swim there anyway. Badassss. I am an alien sojourner in the art world. I can't live without animals. Sometimes I think I'm actually a cat whisperer.Perhaps it follows, I am a vegetarian (most of the time). My weakness is gourmet saussage and biltong (south african delicacy - dried salted meat). One day I want to own a bookshop with a cattery in the basement.
PHILOSOPHY
"We hunger and cling to the amputated pancake" -- (Helene Cixous).
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
At the moment I can't host, but I will gladly meet you for a coffee or a food etc.
I am in Bergen, Norway, til end Jan 2012.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Lately, much meeting up for drinks and dinners with people from all over (via CS). I have been a bit of a residential nomad recently, so scoring a bit low on the hosting figures. I have been hosted by truly excellent people: Knut (Oslo), Mhenna (Paris), Loan (Vietnam), Jan and Vendela (Brno), Ana (Vietnam). Other CS gems are Zlatka (Prague), Petr (Prague), Alex (London), Patrick (Prague), Steve (Australia), Young-jin (Munich). Ah, the fondness.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I partied with princes William and Harry once at my cousin's wedding. I am roughly 378th in line to the British throne. Not that that has an implications for my couch - sorry.
A really amazing place I've explored is Ha Long Bay in Vietnam.
Teach, Learn, Share
SO, I love Johannesburg and I can tell you lots of amazing things about it that you will never learn from a travel guide. I like to think I know it a lot better than many people who actually still live there, because I spent so much time there going to the places you're "not supposed to go" etc. SO I can tell you some of that stuff. Now I live in Cape Town, where I'm learning a lot about all the great wines in the region. We can learn together:) I can teach you to stand on your head, how get your way with chocolate chip cookies and how to tell good art from crap art (just kidding). In return, I'd like to learn how to play tennis and poker and how to make shoes. Or you can just tell me something about where you're from ;)
