Hello

My name is Anouk but everyone calls me Nuka :D

I am traveling with my good friend Renske since the beginning of February 2018. We have been living in New Zealand on a working holiday for the past year.. And we loved it! We liked it so much that we are about to start our second working Holliday in Australia.

For me the best thing about travelling is seeing all the different ways of cultures, seeing amazing places and meet the most incredible people. During my travels I have met so many amazing people who became my friends, family and my loves for the rest of my life. How beautiful is it, to meet people all over the world and connect so deeply even if it is just for a day, a week, a month or maybe for forever.

What I like about traveling is the differences in how we live and which values we have. Share stories, experiences, teach each other new ways, perspectives, skills or just good fun and laughs. See the world trough different eyes. Because everyone makes their own story and nothing is the same for all of us.

I am into; art, creativity, music, travel, photography, reading, theatre, writing, poetry, spoken word, circus, sunsets, sunrises, being outdoor, watch the sky changes colours, jamming, recently I've started learning poi spinning and I would love to learn how to spin fire!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I would love to keep on connecting and learning during my travels. Meet amazing people and share stories, experiences and culture.

Hostels can be fun and nice to meet fellow travellers. But CS gives the opportunity to meet people who actually live in the place, to meet locals and to experience a place not only as a traveler.

I hope to return the favour when I will have my own place to live.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

- Getting rid of my house, stuff and leaving everything behind and go traveling. It sounds cliche but for me it's one of the best things I have done.

- living in a super tiny car with the two of us with all of our stuff and keep on driving.

- Swimming in nature with Dolphins. These creatures are amazing.. And I am happy that I had the opportunity to swim with them in New Zealand since they have such strict rules about only swimming with them in their natural habitat, not in a cage. And only when they want to not when you as a human want them to come to you. To respect them.
