Overview
About Me
CURRENT MISSION
To climb the tallest mountain in North America, Mt. McKinley.
ABOUT ME
A soon to be college grad (May 2015). I'm an overtly passionate person that seeks to find inherent truth in the world, whatever that may be. I try to find and show the positive light of most situations. The things that take up most of my time almost never involve looking at electronic screens.
PHILOSOPHY
"The world is emblematic. Parts of speech are metaphors, because the whole of nature is a metaphor of the human mind."
Earth Wind and Fire are elemental artists that sculpt the earth--though the most patient artists.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
First off, I've never used couchsurfing before and I'm very excited to see what it's all about. I'm couchsurfing because I just bought a plane ticket to Reykjavik Iceland and am going to be staying in the area for 17 days. Looking to meet up with some cool, interesting people! Finding a place to crash would also be pretty rad.
*Cleanliness and respect for those who are sleeping are my two main values in living/staying with other people.
Interests
I am almost always doing/working on these things: playing classical/jazz violin, rock climbing, reading classic novels, boozin', and eatin' pizza. I also have a voracious appetite for good films and independent music.

Music, Movies, and Books
The most influential person to me musically is undoubtedly Andrew Bird–I have so much that I'm still learning from him. Some other favorite artists are: The National, Sufjan Stevens, A Tribe Called Quest, Nas, Common, David Bowie, St. Vincent, Wilco, The War on Drugs, Kurt Vile, Washed Out, Pavement, Deerhunter, My Bloody Valentine, Mac Demarco, Future Islands, Real Estate, Beach House, TV On The Radio, Bob Dylan, Neil Young. I also really dig all forms of string music (classical and neo-classical, folk, americana); jazz/blues violinists from the 1920-40's also have been a huge influence––artists like Stuff Smith, Stephane Grapelli, Eddie South, Mark O' Connor, Christain Howes, etc.
Some favorite movies: Into the Wild, High Fidelity, Stand by Me, City of God, Trainspotting
Favorite Authors: Tolstoy, Jack London, Jon Krakauer, David Foster Wallace
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I've walked a slack-line (loose tightrope material) between two cliffs with a 600ft sheer drop in Moab, Utah.
Teach, Learn, Share
I've got a band that I think I could recommend to literally every person in the world. I can make a mean pasta dish. Talk to me about Philosophy or Ancient History and I could definitely teach you a thing or two.
