Overview
About Me
Hello! This is Anwesha, currently living in Leuven, Belgium (for a year!). I belong to two beautiful states in India - Assam (a valley situated south to the Eastern Himalayas: 'Assam Tea' is our biggest gift to the world!) by birth and Jammu and Kashmir (a serene Himalayan wonder) by marriage! Till 2018, I lived with my husband (who is an Assistant Professor at University of Delhi) in New Delhi and then moved to Belgium for a post-doc at KU Leuven (I am a PhD in 'Science Policy'). I spend most of my spare time reading novels or other books either in English or my native language Assamese. I am a complete sports buff and watch almost all kinds of sports, from Formula 1 to golf! Nevertheless I particularly love football and tennis. I make sure that I visit the football clubs when I visit the prominent cities housing those clubs - Manchester United in Manchester, Barcelona FC in Barcelona or Arsenal in London!! I visited them all and loved them all! And of course, I love to travel, meet new people and realize that the world is still beautiful!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
To travel is to live! That's what I truly believe in! If not anything, travel broadens one's mind and the lens through which s/he sees the world. Travel teaches us new and newer things which are impossible to learn without it! Thus, I love travelling, exploring new places, meeting new people, know their culture/history. Recently had my experiences with Couchsurfing while travelling to Accra, Ghana with a friend. It was amazing to stay with the local people and know their way of life in a distant country. This encouraged me to join Couchsurfing and explore this beautiful world further.

Music, Movies, and Books
I love traditional music of different cultures. Not really a movie person! Love to read particularly Assamese novels and the literary works translated to either English or Assamese from other languages.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Traveled extensively, especially, during the past five years and almost exhausted the pages of one passport!
Teach, Learn, Share
I am sure, all the 'teach, learn, share' in a couchsurfing are mutually inclusive. I can teach about my culture, tradition and history. I can share some folktales and would love to talk/discuss sports, especially football and tennis.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I can share my knowledge on and experiences with Indian cultures (especially from two distinct states - Assam and Jammu and Kashmir), some traditional Indian dishes, or may be, my experiences in the field of research as a PhD and now, post-doc fellow!
