COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

As exchange teachers from the US and South Africa working in England, a group of us decided to go to the Hogmanay New Year's Festival in Edinburgh, Scotland. On the way there, we met a passenger, Duncan, who happened to live off of the Royal Mile, which is in the midst of all the festivities. He was very friendly and offered to put all five of us up for the night. We brought in the New Year in true Scottish fashion. I was a bit apprehensive going into a stranger's home at first, but you go with your instincts and realise that there are people out there just as friendly and giving as you are. Duncan, if you are by some weird cosmic chance reading this, thanks again for everything. It is because of this experience that I have decided to join such wonderfully developed organization.
