ABOUT ME

I(Janice) am very busy right now being a mom. I homeschool preschool my son, teaching him manipulative math, science, reading and we are trying to learn French together. My daughter is a young woman now and I enjoy being a friend and someone she can confide in. I love to be outdoors in my garden, watching the many varieties of insects and plants. It is very important to me to be involved in my community, so I am very active with my moms group, and other groups. I love to bicycle, hike, berry pick, photography, scrapbooking, and most of all spend quality time with my family.

My husband Dan love to fish, hike, ATV, brew beer and snow machine. My husband works a lot, so I will be happy to show you around.

Our son is "All Boy" Very busy, if it moves, has a motor, he is obsessed. May be and engineer like his father! He is very sweet and wants to give lots of love!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I am new to couch surfing, but I am excited to gain more experience!!! I am really drawn to this idea. I love people, but I often feel isolated here. The people of Delta are very kind people, but we are very busy with family. Families tend to be larger here than in the lower 48. I really want to get to know all sorts of people and though I know the Alaskan lifestyle is not for most people, I would love to share our experiences.

Almost everything, but at this point in my life I only listen and watch stuff that I feel has a positive influence in my families life.

I love to learn, so I read a lot of nonfiction. And right now I am really trying to understand the mind of a young boy!!!

I sat on my porch drinking my coffee pondering this question and I have to sound very simple minded in my answer, but I looked around my yard and am always amazed at the incredable beauty around me. It is July as I write this and just a few short months ago here in Alaska it was freezing cold, Winters here in the interior can start in late September and last thru April, we can see - 40 degrees farenheit for sometimes over a week and it has been colder. Winters here are long, dark and can be very brutal, even unforgiving if you do something foolish. But here in July it is paradise, yesterday almost 90 degrees and more wild animals, insects and plants than I have ever seen before. How everything is so well adapted to survive these long winters still and hopefully will always amaze me. I love this land.
