Hi you :)

My name is Ariane and after a craaaaazzzy year in Australia I'm moving to New-Zeland, ready for a new chapter full of great adventures!

So, what can I tell you about me.. ?

From the beginning : I grew up in a tiny village, lost between rivers and green fields. I feel very grateful for having grown up in such a peaceful and beautiful place. If we become friends, I would be happy to invite you there. (I'll even take you inside the castle) :)
Only farmers and crafters live on this property. There's a kind of "communal and autonomous state of mind" in this place that became a part of my personality too : sharing what I have and what I know, helping when I am able to, being open-minded… I use to grow my own fruits and veggies and of course I like good food, cooked with love ;)

I spent lots of time observing nature, playing in barns, looking after animals. Being away from the city have permitted me to concentrate on the beauty of the countryside lifestyle and to have a real consideration for the environment.
Nowadays I can say that I appreciate as much cities as rural places, which is pretty cool :)

Starting to live away from my family at 14, have been in a boarding school studying Applied Arts (architecture, design, fashion, visual communication) and experienced the life in a big city called LYON ! Such a great time there :)
I've got a diploma from University in Textile Design.
So, of course, I am passionate about Creation (all sorts of expression forms), I like to admire, to feel the "underneath" of it.
Always thinking about ideas to achieve, gifts to make.

School system have had a very stressful impact on me and after having my diploma I have decided to FOLLOW MY FEELINGS ! Hahaha delicious !!
Taking time for me, living on my own rhythm, listening to my needs. According to me, being conscious and happily well with my mind is the best thing I can offer to the world.
I felt ready for a big adventure…

IN FEBRUARY 2015 I arrived in Emerald Queensland, where I spent 6 months in a family. If you like stories, I will have heaps to share with you.. ;)
Pretty full-on beginning.
I traveled all the Queensland coast to Cooktown and stopped in Mena Creek (South of Cairns) to work in a MAGICAL place called Paronella Park. Have you been there before!?That's where I became a tour guide.

I traveled in WA from Perth to Karijini… this trip is engraved in my heart.
I traveled from Perth to Melbourne, with different travel mates and explored great wild places in between, taking time to live. Lots of stories again.

I would say that I am an easygoing person, always smiling (you will notice quickly), reliable, pretty sensitive.
I do like humor, laughing with people I meet, talking about this world and so many things.

I do love getting to know people.
I have lots of passions and resources I can share with you.

And I actually don't know what to say at this point haha. Not that fun to describe yourself on a website! I do my best.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Couchsurfing is just AMAZING, I totally follow the concept of helping in exchange of meeting people from all over the world !
You never know what a meeting can bring in your life and I believe it can surprise positively :)
Traveling on my own, couch surfing appears to me like the best way to get involved within a culture, getting to know the truth and not only what is gave to tourists.
I appreciate also the fact that there is no money in the deal, "paying" with services is great and helpful when you are traveling and can't afford to spend at least $30 to sleep every night.

Of course, back to France, I'll open my house to couchsurfers!

Interests

Living day by day, following the flow.

Dancing !!! Have done Ballet for 7 years, Improvisation/Contact dance for 2 years, Flamenco for 4 months, Salsa a few times… An other passion we could share :) Also, I love going out for dancing!

Art and crafts : I use to do sewing - weaving - knitting- screen printing - sculpture - painting - photography…

Organisation of gatherings (debates, exhibitions, concerts)
Have been an active membre of a cultural association «Le Kinoscope» (Lyon, France). We would organize a gathering every month, in a secret place (squat, garden, cave, chapel and invite locals artists to perform. I miss this asso !!

Love live music ! Passionate about world music, rock from the 70's, jazz, electro, minimalism, funk, reggae, dub… Just crazy about music.
My instrument is a kalimba ( african instrument for story tellers, "thumb piano")

Singing :) (sang in a choir and had lessons in duet) I love jam session ! ;)

Love nature, animals, horse-riding, exploring, hiking, climbing, canyoning, swimming, snorkeling…

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Built a raft with 30 people I didn't know.
14 meters long, 5meters high
Made of bamboo and nets and containers from the landfill
We travelled on a river called Dordogne in France for almost two weeks, all together… MEMORABLE.
We experienced a dream, living in community, and moving with our "house", inviting people to visit the raft and follow us !
