About Me

Hey guys! If you're reading this, chances are, I'm mostly likely another wild adventurer like most backpackers are, which you're right ;) Picture a wanderer who would let nothing be an obstacle to be on the road as a bohemian nomad- that's me! Last I checked, even cancer had enough of my ideals and killed itself off lmao. Backpacking is quite foreign to the society where I grew up in, and I don't even have to explain how my parents tried to stop me from backpacking. Being Asian (especially as a Chinese), attempts to force me into the conventional lifestyle is encouraged. One word: Nah. That's not going to happen.
Personally, I'm quite a proponent of equality and human rights myself I'd say. Needless to say, I'm very progressive and liberal. I'm guided by open-mindedness with a heightened sense of curiosity so bear with me if I ask too many questions! You'll find me warm to be around and I loveee meeting new people in addition to the addiction of hearing exotic stories (I'm a good listener). Being an ambivert, I have to explain that although you may see me chattering like a monkey in steroids, I'm partly an introvert who sometimes prefer forlorn periods for some contemplation or I just want to be alone, opps! Haha well, put it like this: there's a battery life for both sides of me, but don't get put offed! I like quality conversations and connections.

The human experience is a celebration of life and diversity. Our world is nothing without diversity and although we may derive from distinct cultural groups or ethnicities, we are still a collective group having a wonderful human experience that is unparalleled. Therefore, I'm into meeting genuine, tolerant people who respects people from all backgrounds and especially the LGBT group, as myself being part of it. So no discriminations, only love! ve had rough times so it is a nice to lend a hand!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Meeting new people for thrilling adventures! Imagine how boring it is to book a hotel room for yourself all alone. No friends (especially solo backpacking), inauthentic cultural experience and expensive. Couchsurfing is brilliant. You get to bond with new and exciting people, immerse in the actual culture and locals, go out on exciting spontaneous adventures and form unforgettable experiences! I believe couchsurfing is a platform for backpackers and travelers to connect and help each other whilst forming bonds along the way.

Y'all just wait till I get settled somewhere where I can host people, I'll be inviting everyone!!

Interests

Definitely into adventure and spontaneity. Very interested in paranormal, metaphysical and philosophical discussions. I really enjoy having deep conversations with people about life, the universe and the nature of reality- anything deep. Also a violinist and very musically/artistically oriented (poetry is where I channel my inner feelings). Also exploring abandoned places! You may see that I'm learning quite a number of languages. That's because languages allow me to live in different worlds and connect with people from all around the world :)

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: All sorts of genre except screamo/death metal. I particularly find instrumental music more of my type as the rhythms itself convey them all. Olafur Arnalds and Lindsey Stirling- people I look up to. After that comes the mainstream ones and even Indie music which I sometimes find a certain uniqueness in them.

Movies: Is it good? Then sign me in. I particularly like films which are deep and impacts me for a few days or even weeks, philosophical ones especially and those which touches my soul. I love horror, adventure, action, thriller, drama, romance etc etc.
My favs: Cloud Atlas, Silent Hill, Predestination, Wild, Prayers for Bobby, Jamie Marks is Dead, The Hunger Games, etc. Too many of them.

Books: I used to read a lot but not recently. The Secret, The Power, Veronika Decides to Die, Escape from Camp 14

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I had my first risky adventure a day after my 21st birthday as a celebration for myself. Got a bus ticket up to Genting Highlands in Malaysia all by myself and met a Swedish hippie backpacker on the way at the cable car station. We spontaneously decided to venture elsewhere in search for an abandoned place/ ghost town we saw on Google images about few km away. Spent hours in the darkness on an abandoned road in the middle of nowhere in the jungle. Freaky!
This lad changed my life and kickstarted my innate adventurous qualities.
