CURRENT MISSION
My mission is to meet new friends, host, and surf couches!
ABOUT ME
Hi there!
In one sentence I am a perpetually optimistic, inquisitive soul with a rather serious case of wanderlust. Curiosity follows me everywhere.. She is a good friend and teaches me about the world.
In short, my goal on here is to simply meet people. I look forward to being a global traveler and believe in "paying it forward" - if you ever need a place to stay, look me up, and if you see that we will be in the same area feel free to send me a note.
In truth, my joy in life comes from living out my dreams and discovering new ones. I am moved by many thing and live for passion and adventure. I believe you have never truly lived until you have witnessed something and been so moved to your core that you simply don't know whether to cry, sing, or laugh. It is the very moment when the words stop rolling around in your head and you can bask in gratitude, in awe of life itself. This is why I travel.
PHILOSOPHY
"Raise an unexpected glass to long, cold winters and sweet hot summers and the beautiful confusion of the times in between. To the unexpected drenching rain that leaves you soaking wet and smiling breathless; here’s to the soul-expanding power of the simply beautiful,to evolution more than revolution, to the bright side, the glass half full, the silver lining, and the optimists who consider darkness just a different kind of shining." -- Taylor Mali
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I see myself participating in both ends of the spectrum and every way in between. I have two couches to offer and plenty of floor space. When my travels take me away from home I would be ecstatic to meet new friends along the way and staying with other people sounds like a grand adventure. Even if you are just available for a cup of coffee, it could be something grand.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I have a fairly developed background in couch surfing, not on the internet, however. When I hitch hiked to San Francisco when I was 17 I met some of the most incredible people. For a whole week I had my own apartment - a wonderful elderly couple was trying to rent out their second home in the Mission district and let me stay there for free. Another time I was in the Bay area I met two people in the Pride Parade who let me stay in their condo, overlooking the entire city. My best memory would be walking into the marble-floored kitchen late one night and grazing on the feast they had laid out - a plank of salmon, grapes, wine, and all sorts of things. I then stepped out onto the terrace and felt the breeze washing over me as I looked out at the million twinkling lights of the city. It is moments like that which make life precious.
Interests
First and foremost, I love meeting new people and exploring new places. Traveling solo is my favorite thing as I get to see more and am free to do as I chose. In my home state, I have fun by riding my motorcycle with a group of friends, hiking in the forests, soaking in hot springs, watching movies, and a whole lot more. The most important thing to me in life is my family. My life long dream is to travel the entire world over.

Music, Movies, and Books
I am currently reading The Illuminatus Triology by Robert Shea and Robert Antwon Wilson. I read a lot of philosophy and word-heavy fiction. Some of my favorite writers include the following: Stieg Larsson, Robert Ludlum, J.R.R. Tolkein, Albert Camus, Khaled Hosseini, Martin Luther King JR, Anton Chekhov, Ralph Waldo Emerson, and Tom Clancy.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
The first time I hitch hiked to San Francisco (California) is still vivid in my memory. I remember my first time riding over the bay bridge and looking down at the city through the torrential rain that was pouring down; it felt like I had arrived in Gotham city. From all my travels (which is not much) I would say the most significant moment happened when I was at the Abraham Lincoln monument in Washington D.C. looking down at the reflecting pool and as I glanced at the marble beneath my feet I noticed an inscription stating that this was the exact spot which Dr Martin Luther King JR stood upon when he gave the "I had a dream" speech. The sun was going down, and as I stared out at the masses of people milling around on the ground, I was suddenly back in 1963 witnessing a pivotal moment for American people and our history. My skin was covered in goosebumps.
Teach, Learn, Share
I have had 6 months of professional massage training and am happy to teach and share my skills. I also could teach you how to ride a motorcycle (I will let you ride mine) and enjoy leading others in guided meditations. Quantum physics is a passion of mine, and I am always looking to pass on knowledge that can make a difference for people.
I have an unquenchable thirst for learning. The sky is the limit. Teach me anything and everything.
