ABOUT ME

International MBA returning to entrepreurial consulting after recent stint as corporate drone.

Getting back into earlier travel mode, mainly (but hopefully not only) for work, though somewhat restrained by significant (though diminished) responsibilities at home (spending time with kids).

PHILOSOPHY

Fun, flexible, adventerous. But also serious and grounded. Prefer experience over things (though I do have way too many things for the space available!).

Lots of big changes in my life recently, so I have to think this one through a bit more. I used to know, but the rediscovery process can take a little time.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I expect on occasion to be able to offer a couch for a night or two. Not yet clear how this will work in practice.

At this point in my business, I am not yet passing through travel costs, and have opportunities to stay with friends in many places. When that is not possible, couchsurfing seems to present a viable (and more importantly, possibly interesting) alternative.

Interests

Travel - love exploring new as well as familiar cities and places, especially in Europe; have a big list to work through and have fallen behind

Also appreciate dining (including cooking), art and photography(though not formally trained or educated), good beers/wines, cars (especially German), sports (baseball, riding bicycle)

Music, Movies, and Books

Music - Old stuff (baroque/classical), new stuff (mostly European and 80s or 80s-inspired - best known examples might be New Order, The Cure, Front 242, Delerium, VNV Nation). Ok, maybe not all so well known. I love making CD mixes (so old school) and at times display symptoms of Compulsive DJ syndrome.

Movies - I end up not seeing many, but can enjoy a good one given the opportunity. One of my favorites is Barcelona. Next up is Wings of Desire. I suppose these are fairly obscure picks. In any case, I am way behind.

Books - I read a lot, but am way behind on books. Mostly non-fiction: current events, political economy, history, business... would like to get back to reading fiction and maybe something lighter from time to time.
