About Me
CURRENT MISSION
My current mission is to complete my doctoral degree with relativly little scarring. My goals at large are to play flute every day and to be as good a person as possible.
ABOUT ME
Ummm... I think I've said a lot already, but if you want to know more:
I'm an avid listener of NPR. I like keeping up with the world and I like to know what's going on.
I love crosswords and sudoku and pretty much any other type of puzzle.
I love to read.
PHILOSOPHY
I like people and getting to know who they are. I guess at the end of the day my personal philosophy can be summed up in this quote:
Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate.
Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure.
It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us.
We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant,
gorgeous, talented, fabulous?
Actually, who are you not to be?
You are a child of God.
Your playing small does not serve the world.
There is nothing enlightened about shrinking
so that other people won't feel insecure around you.
We are all meant to shine, as children do.
We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us.
It is not just in some of us; it is in everyone.
And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously
give other people permission to do the same.
As we are liberated from our own fear,
our presence automatically liberates others.

Music, Movies, and Books
I'm pretty open to movies music and books of any genre.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Just one? How about two? Or maybe three?
1. When I was five, my parent took me and my sisters on a cross country trip in an RV for six weeks during the summer. Despite the fact that this trip took place when I was young, it instilled in me a profound love of travel and of seeing and doing new things. It still amazes me to this day that by the age of 6 I had been to over half the state in the US and seen some of the most important sights in the nations history.
2. When I was a junior in high school I had the opportunity to spend a week in Paris, France. This gave me a love of Europe and a love of good food and wine. Unfortunately I've not been back to Europe since.
3. I play music everyday. What's more amazing than that?
Teach, Learn, Share
I can share the experience of classical music. I think there is a preconceived notion that Bach, Beethoven and Mozart are boring. But they are really interesting people! Oh and their music is pretty good too.
