About Me

I'm a dancer, storyteller, cook and outdoor educator, hailing from the valleys of western Massachusetts. I live in a house in the forest, not far from where I grew up but spent the better part of five years living abroad in intentional communities all over the world.
I love meeting new people and visiting new places and put an emphasis on building relationships rather than seeing tourist attractions. Relationship can be with people but also with a place and I've spent many a chilly night alone, enjoying the solace of the moon and stars above.
I'm excited about contact improvisation dance, movement in general, Body-Mind Centering, storytelling (tell me your story and i'll tell you mine!), long intense discussions about social justice, art, music, and any way of living which turns the status quo on it's head.
I can be quiet and reserved, losing myself in a good book or my journal and also love to laugh, adventure and share good cooking and good meals!
Water and trees are some of my favs and I spend as much time outdoors as possible, often just exploring and allowing my feet and the forest lead me.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I'm currently a surfer, a new-ish surfer! and look forward to being a host myself as soon as i'm settled into my new home :)

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've had one couchsurfing experience so far, although I wasn't an official "couchsurfer" yet. My partner at the time set it up and we wound up staying with a wonderful family in Hobart, Tasmania for a night. Our host was so courteous, and even took us on a driving tour of the city and surrounding areas. We had a lovely meal with him, his girlfriend, and her son, exchanging stories over the table. I was completely blown away by their hospitality, inviting us, strangers, into their home, and treating us like family.
I also know many surfers and have such high respect for traveling in this way. Traveling slowly, getting to know people and it's a huge honor to be welcomed into someone's home.

Interests

sustainable and community living, permaculture, agriculture, raising my consciousness, the collective unconscious, education reform, folklore, stories of all kinds, music, drums and anything that speaks to my primitive self, cooking, art, movement and healing work of any kind, playing outside!

Music, Movies, and Books

I love documentries, fantasy and sci-fi. currently reading books about empowering women and watching a documentary about the first nine months of life in utero...

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

The most incredible thing i've ever done was crossing the Atlantic ocean in a cement chinese junk sailboat. It was rocky, rolling bliss, with a crew of 11, most of us having never spent more than a day on the water. Waves crashed in through the portholes, pots and pans flew across the galley, dolphins danced on our bow, sunsets lit the water on fire... We even lost our steering at one point and had to install the emergency system.

Teach, Learn, Share

I love to cook, clean, tell stories and help out on farms and in gardens. I'm extremely respectful and believe in co-creation of spaces and energy

What I Can Share with Hosts

Cooking, storytelling, movement practices, contact improv, good company over a hot cup of tea or going out on the town :)
