About Me

Hello! I am an American, spending some time traveling around. I am currently in London, working as an Aupair, and will be returning to Italy for a little while again at the end of the month. I love traveling, meeting new people, getting lost, finding my way, learning new things and exploring! I'm from Colorado, so to answer your questions... No response to the Trump situation. Yes, Colorado is where Southpark is. And yes, Colorado legalized weed. :P
I've only been using Couchsurfing for about a month and used it to meet hosts and make friends in Ireland for one week. I did not expect to have such an incredible experience with it. It truly is so much more than finding a place to sleep... and that's not my purpose for using it! I loved meeting locals who were excited to meet me as well. To know about their history, their past, their passions, their hobbies, and interests. To find what we agree upon and what we disagree upon, and be completely okay with that because we are all human! What a beautiful thing this can be if used in the correct way.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Because I love traveling, and I think one of the best things about traveling is the people you meet! My favourite thing about my journey since January has been the people I've met. I've enjoyed traveling alone and speaking with people I've met in cafes, in train stations, on walks home. I've made many friends this way, and that is greater than any souvenir I could purchase!

Interests

Art, meditation, hiking, paddle boarding, yoga, conversation, language learning, reading, journaling, blogging, going for walks. If you like yoga, I will happily do a yoga session with you! I'm vegan now and have recently become obsessed with finding delicious recipes for lasagna, Indian food, ice cream, muffins etc. I love cooking now!

Music, Movies, and Books

I love Jane Eyre, I collect it. I think now I have 12 copies of it! I also really like used book stores... just going in and leaving with something unexpected. Currently I watch Game of Thrones!!!. But I don't watch much television. I'd rather be outside. For music, I really like folksy music, like Mumford and Sons, The Lumineers, The Head and the Heart... things like this!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I think probably what I am doing right now! I quit my job, sold my car and belongings and moved across the Atlantic Ocean for whoever knows how long! Living the minimalist dream!
I also got stuck in Cinque Terre in Italy one weekend during a train strike. I hitchhiked my way home, which took about one day, as there were no trains running within the region. During this, I met other Americans, a friendly old Italian couple on the platform at the train station who I practiced the language with, and Australians! I arrived home at one in the morning, and went back to work the next morning!

Teach, Learn, Share

I speak English, so if you are learning English I would be happy to practice with you. I am learning Italian, so I am accepting all the help I can get! I really enjoy singing too, so if you are musical, I would be happy to have a music jam session. :) I'm learning Italian at the moment, and it's not only allowing me to appreciate the language but also to appreciate the process of learning languages!
I studied development mostly of the mind, so you can tell me about your life problems I can offer my advice and thoughts from a scientific and studious perspective. This advice improves with the level of wine in me.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Nice conversations, different culture, a friendship. If you visit me in America I will be sure you have an incredible time... take you out, show you around, maybe find a "typical American house party" since this is what so many people ask me about! I would love to cook a nice meal or share a conversation over cocktails. I have many stories to share of my travels as well! And chances are if you host me, I'll write about you on my blog, so you'll be internet famous! 😋
