ABOUT ME

I love. It is as simple as that. I try to live my life considering each event as unique and worthy of my full attention. Mindfulness is a trait I continually strive towards. Too many people are caught in the web of egotistic materialism our society has spun. These blinders prevent the gospel of love from flourishing, instead focusing our attentions on the petty.

PHILOSOPHY

I am a Pagan. This is basically an umbrella term for a wide range of beliefs not stemming from the Abrahamic faith. Under this term I describe myself as eclectic, taking bits and pieces of every faith to craft my own. I firmly believe that no one religion or philosophy is absolute truth, but that insight can be found in every belief system. This mindset allows me to be accepting of all people.

Interessen

I love to write essays, poetry, etc. Mind expansion of all variety. I have a hand drum and box flute, and am always up to a drum circle or just to jam out. I also possess a small hookah, which if requested I will bring.

Musik, Filme und Bücher

I am horrible at making lists. Instead of spending hours plumbing my mind's depths, I will simply name off what I can recall.
Movies: Shawshank Redemption, Pan's Labyrinth, Thank You for Smoking, Monty Python,etc. This list is pitifully short, but basically I enjoy movies with political, satirical, or spiritual themes.
Music: I am a great admirer of the 60's hippie culture, and thus like most of its music. I also like much of classic rock, with prog rock being my favorite genre(Pink Floyd/Gentle Giant.) Of modern music I like The Flaming Lips, Clutch, The White Stripes, etc. My taste also extends to the electronic medium, some names include Shpongle, Aphex Twins, Bassnectar,Dj Shadow, etc. Ask and I will tell more.
Books: Brave New World, Through the Looking Glass, Animal Farm, 1984, Ender's Game, Kushiel's Dart, Clockwork Orange.. I read way more than this looks. >.>

Single best experiences of my life. Sitting on a grassy hill amongst 80 thousand kindred spirits allowed me to experience ego death. It was beautiful.

Couchsurfing in DC during the inauguration.. what a trip.
