About Me
Hello!
I'm a gal in her mid-twenties who has a preference for traveling solo! I’ve never left the country, but I’m hoping in the next year or so I’ll find my way out of here for a bit. Until then I love visiting other states or places just hours from me out here in California.
I love meeting new people and experiencing other cultures especially when it has to do with food. I’m pretty willing to try anything once. I’m always up for good conversation, a locals perspective on where I’m at, making meals, going for hikes, or just a cup of coffee.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Here’s the thing I prefer to visit a city and enjoy it like a local. I think you’ll see more and learn a lot more either about the history of it or just the people that live in it. I think it’s fun to do the touristy stuff for a day or two, but getting to know someone’s neighborhood is a much more submersible experience for me. Not only that, but since I travel alone it’s nice to have someone either to spend time with or even just as a point of contact for safety reasons in a new city I’m unfamiliar with. There’s so much to gain from sharing space with someone you may not have gotten to meet otherwise, and I think the experience is totally worth it.

Music, Movies, and Books
I love quite an array of music. I'll listen to anything although I'll be honest I'm not a huge country fan. I enjoy indie, punk, folk, and alternative genres mostly. I read a lot of older novels or classics. I collect vintage hardbacks. I enjoy reading poetry, and a good mix of both fiction and non-fiction. I usually always have a book on me, and sometimes I’m overly ambitious and will read more than one at a time. I love watching movies when the weather isn’t as nice. I can get down with a good cult classic or some odd indie films, but I’m totally a sucker for 90’s and early 00’s rom-come too.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Survived a rock slide? I'm not sure if that makes me amazing though. I solo hiked 20 miles once which for someone who was incredibly inexperienced and hasn’t backpacked much I thought it was pretty amazing. Otherwise I think the courage to do anything entirely on my own and put myself out there is something I’m proud of.
Teach, Learn, Share
I love learning new things especially in the creative sphere. I shoot a ton of analog photography, so I could teach someone about that if they were interested. I enjoy learning how to cook or bake new things because often times I’ll try to make things from scratch (like pasta!). I think there’s much to learn about simply in just having a conversation with someone new too :)
What I Can Share with Hosts
I hope if I get to stay with my host that they will have even just the smallest bit of free time to share a meal, grab a cup of coffee, play a game, have a conversation, or just go for a walk around the block. I am very capable of going out on my own, and I often will disappear for the whole day. I think I’d love to just exchange conversation, have some laughs, share experiences, make a meal together, or maybe they’ll even let me capture a portrait of them. I’ll always have several cameras on me, and maybe one day I’ll be able to print it in the darkroom and send it as a token of memorializing my stay.
