About Me

PHILOSOPHY

Life's short.
Many people die at 25 and are buried at 75.
Nobody cares who the richest man in the graveyard is.
Try everything, twice.

ABOUT ME
I served 5 years in the British Army, (Royal Engineers).

Since leaving I've become a self employed Electrician. This has given me the freedom to do what I've always wanted to do; travel the world.

I've just finished a 7 month trip from New York to Salvador, Brazil.

NEXT TRIPS PLANNED

California and Israel in September/October.

Morocco for New Years.

Banff, Canada in Feb.

Colombia in March.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I joined CS a few years ago when I started travelling, but I never finished setting up my profile as I didn't feel the need for it. Now after hearing so many good things while on my last trip I thought I'd give it a go.

I'm over in California very soon. I have visited before and loved it, but this time I'm on a stricter budget and I'd like to see it more as a local, instead of a tourist.

I'm also visiting this time to weight it up as a place to potentially emigrate to.

Interests

Seeing as much of the world as possible and experiencing as much of it as I can.

Football (Soccer), I love going to see games in foreign countries.

Extreme Sports / Trying to scare myself.

Hiking/Trekking.

Music, Movies, and Books

Movies: City Of God, Scarface, Shawshank Redemption, One Flew Over The Cuckoos Nest, Memento, Wolf of Wall Street, the list goes forever..

Music: Everything really, but Indie is my favourite.

Books: Best book I've read recently was Michio Kaku - Physics of the Future, it was quite and insight into potentially whats to come.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

The whole last two years have been amazing. A few come to mind,

A two week solo skydiving course I did in Germany.

Narrowly avoiding death by sheer good fortune on the Stairway to Heaven in Oahu, Hawaii.

One Monday morning spent swimming in a lake next to an active volcano with good food and the best company, Mt Rinjani, Lombok, Indonesia.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Im very easy going, with quite a few stories from adventures around the world.

I'm very polite and courteous as I'd expect people to be in my home.

If theres a couch with my name on it, I'll return the favour with beer/food or both!
