Overview
About Me
American Gypsy Hobo. Former full-time street performer, current student, MUA, picture-taker, and food eater.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
"For my part, I travel not to go anywhere, but to go. I travel for travel's sake. The great affair is to move." -Robert Louis Stevenson
At home, I love to host hitchhikers and hear about their wild adventures. Now that it's my turn to explore, I hope to find new friends in other cultures willing to show me how they live. What they like to eat. What they love about their homes, where they came from, and what they aspire to accomplish in the future. I'm game for any new experience, especially when in good company!

Design, analog photography, hiking, cooking, surfing, reading (when I have time), daydreaming (when I don't really have time), running, yoga, weight training, dancing, fire spinning, theater, and history.

Music, Movies, and Books
I love to read and wish that I had more time to do so. I've been a big fan of nonfiction (particularly history/language/art history), but have recently warmed to fiction as a genre overall.
I listen to a little bit of everything, and am always on the hunt for new music.
As far as cinema is concerned, I enjoy silent films, classics from the 1930's-1960's, documentaries, art films, camp and comedy.

Teach, Learn, Share
I can teach/help with/would love to swap tips on:
SFX makeup; wig design and manipulation; costume/garment design, alteration, and production; knitting; baking; cooking for vegetarians; leather working (decidedly not for vegetarians); darkroom skills; English as a second language.
Things I'm dying to learn more about:
French and Italian language, traditional European baking, cooking Thai/Japanese/Korean foods, playing ukulele and piano, technology, regional floral/fauna, and slang in any language.
What I Can Share with Hosts
Effective, clear communication and tidiness. An eagerness to learn about local cultures/food/activities without obnoxious "tourist clinginess". What do you love about the place you live? If you have time, introduce me to your favorite haunts. If your schedule doesn't permit for excursions together, don't fret; I'm happy to entertain myself! Getting lost is essential to discovering new ideas. I'm more than willing to help with your art projects (because I love making things!), but I can also offer you a pretty capable hand in domestic chores...cooking, errand-running, household cleaning, etc. I'm an experienced seamstress, does this mean I can mend your clothes? -Probably! I travel with a pretty thorough sewing kit, and am always willing to give it a go. My hope is that over the course of time I spend with you, we can forge a unique friendship and learn new things from one another.
