About Me

CURRENT MISSION

West Africa or sneaky Antarctica trip and a cycle across Australia (tick!)

ABOUT ME

I’m an outdoorsy, very active guy up for any kind of adventure. I surf, hike, canyon, hitchhike, love cards etc etc. I’ve never truly left Sydney although I’ve spent a few years travelling here and there. I work as a biomedical engineer when I’m home so I get to visit hospitals around Australia - something I take full advantage of. Staying at home isn’t too bad either as we live barefoot walking distance to the beach.

PHILOSOPHY

The best things in life happen when you least expect it. ALWAYS BE OPEN! Say "Yes!" and you'll open the door to some amazing things. Take it as it comes and try to have some fun on the way!! even if it means breaking some rules on the way

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Crazy days with tourists being anything but lazy

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I'm just a beginner but already couchsurfing and the people we've met have shown me so much! We've stayed in completely different homes and got up to all types of mischief, even in Sydney it's such a fun way to spend free time. I love the generosity and excitement of all the people I've stayed with and talked to and I can't imagine a better way to feel more comfortable in strange new places!

Interests

I love hanging around the beach no matter what time of year. In summer/autumn sunbaking on the sand in between surfs, or having the best swells of the year in winter.

Really though I'm into anything adventurous so throw your best at me!

Music, Movies, and Books

The Jungle Giants

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

-Jumping down the deep mountain canyons around Sydney every chance we get.
-Surfed next to whales, penguins, seals, turtles and dolphins
-Trekked to Machu Pichu, jumping out of the way of trains on “the back way” there
-Hunted moose (peacefully) in French Canada
-Playing football in Italy & beating AC Milan (juniors)
-Climbing Angel's Landing (Zion NP) on ice.
-Climbed jungle pyramids in Tikal
-Swam in cenotes in Mexico
-Looked to forever on the Bolivian salt lakes
-Attempting to climb Chimborazo 6300m asl (epic fail)
-Rafted the Nile River in Uganda
-Caught 74 Matatus over Africa, each uniquely uncomfortable
-Had our boat towed across the border between Malawi & Mozambique
-Bogging our tiny VW hire car in Namibia (and forgetting about the lions and hyenas we'd just seen to try get out)
-NYE in Rio on Copacabana beach
-Eaten dog (we think) for chinese new year
-Driven above the arctic in Finland/Norway
-Cycled 1400km around Tasmania to help remember my Dad
- Cycled 600km across Korea in 6 days with my girlfriend
-Trying to find our next couch and ending up at an abandoned house
-And eating dumpster food provided by those hosts!
