Overview
About Me
I'm a professional Cellist and training as a biologist in wildlife conservation and education. I have my own music group, CoastalChamberMusicians.com, where I play in weddings with my two sisters who play violin. Check out our music videos on that website.
I love meeting people and sharing ideas and experiences. I'm interested in all things sustainable, home cooking, and good books.
I love all types of exploration and adventure. I've hitchhiked through New Zealand and Australia, worked as a SCUBA diver in Colombia SA, and studied coral reefs in Belize. I've lived in Alaska, Maine, Virginia and South Carolina, where I was born. I've been to nearly every state of the USA.
I scuba dive, sail, ride my bike everywhere, go on camping trips, and watch birds.
I own 10 chickens that I get fresh eggs from every day. I spent a summer internship at Polyface Farm, which you may have heard of through the documentary Food Inc or bestseller Omnivore's Dilemma.
I have no interest in drugs, and I'm not crazy about cigarettes or excessive alcohol, either.
I'm constantly researching and learning and writing. Life is an adventure to explore and I enjoy sharing it with others.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
As a host, I want to meet people, hear their story, and make their travels easy.
As a visitor, I want to travel in an authentic way, meet locals, and have environmentally low-impact travels.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Recently, I passed a college calculus course with an 'A' after 2 weeks of self-teaching, without any calculus background.
Teach, Learn, Share
I can teach you the basic structure of Spanish in 2 hours.
I love sharing with people the wonders of the world through science.
I love learning about people.
The greatest gift you ever give is your honest self.
If there's a cello around, I'll give you a private concert!
What I Can Share with Hosts
I'm an energetic guy who can help out. I'm very clean. I'm a good cook (some say so, anyway). See 'teach, learn, share', above.
