I used to host quite a lot back in the day, then stopped, and then I remembered how much fun I used to have hosting. So ignore the response rate, that is the old me. But not really old me, really old me had 100% response rate, like the old me from the last couple of years.

Carbohydrates are my illicit drug of choice. Give me a bagel and a muffin and I will go "OH YEAH!! LETS PAR-TAAAYYYYYYY!!!!!" (I also added coffee to the equation recently. I used to never drink so now just one cup turns me into the energizer bunny.)

We have been getting a lot of last minute requests lately, which is fine. We accommodated last minute surfers in the past, and probably will again in the future. But you should keep in mind that last minute requests are far from ideal for several reasons. Two most important are: 1) I don't check this daily, so there is a good chance I will see your request too late. 2) We are usually pretty busy. If we did not already commit to hosting you, we probably have plans. We like to host people we would like to, and have time to, hang with.

我做过的一件不可思议的事情

My first surfer was from Dubai, and one day she decided she just had enough, quit her job and traveled the world for 9 months through couch surfing before ending up on our couch. She also took me to a few parties in NYC which were cooler than any parties I normally get invited on our own.

I really wish I had her balls. (excuse my french).
