ABOUT ME
I am a professional writer who also enjoys photography, outdoor sports and, of course, travel. I am interested in the couch surfing idea to meet people from foreign countries and get an inside view of the countries I'm visiting.
PHILOSOPHY
Where are we eating?
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I've hosted people from all over the world, and many of them I now consider my friends. My first was an 18-year-old Frenchman finding his way across the United States and open-minded enough to want to spend three days exploring New York's Capital Region (we're still in touch). I've had people stay here who were going to the local university, or just passing through for an evening. One fellow helped me with a construction project. Several have cooked some amazing meals. I'm always happy to show people this little piece of upstate New York take them on a tour, bring them to whatever cultural evening is happening when they are here -- or just provide a quiet, comfortable place to spend the night.
Interests
Museums, art, good food, new beer, local festivals and things most tourists don't get to see. I like photography, writing, reading, movies, live music and social atmospheres.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I've biked through Pakistan, trekked around the Annapurnas, bused to Tibet and walked to Machu Picchu. But I still can't get my GPS to work.
