About Me...

"When the rain is blowing in your face,
and the whole world is on your case,
my friendship offers you a warm embrace..."

My friends say I'm a good listener--someone with empathy and understanding. This stems from my philosophy of friendship. I am someone who is willing to invest my time in our nascent friendship, to take the time to really get to know you and discover your inner beauty.

Elegance is not mere Appearance, it betrays your Inner Beauty:

"We must never confuse Elegance with Glamour.
For me, Elegance is not to pass Unnoticed
but to get to the very Soul of who one is."

While physical beauty may be appreciated by the eyes within seconds, to really know someone, to learn what makes them tick, to appreciate the way they think, what lies within, beneath the surface... takes time.

"Friendship is no plant of hasty growth
Tho' planted in esteem's deep fixed soil
The gradual culture of kind intercourse
Must bring it to perfection."
~ Joanna Baillie

"I forget how I met Azlan. It had to do with Malaysia, though. Azlan is a person you might meet, one in a million. He knows Malaysian culture, he knows the Malaysian countryside. He will awe you with his tours, choices of authentic peasant cuisine, and street markets. At the end of the day, he leaves you feeling just a little Malaysian. He honors you with his spare time, funny stories, friendliness, and warm personality. Any time spent with him is an honor, and never wasted."

PHILOSOPHY

About My Political Philosophy...
I am a Libertarian. Libertarians are self-governors in both personal and economic matters. We believe government's only purpose is to protect people from coercion and violence. We value individual responsibility, and tolerate economic and social diversity.

Libertarians want a win-win world of peace and plenty. And we believe that the only way to get it is through self-government... not others-government.

Self-government is the combination of personal responsibility and tolerance. Responsibility means you govern yourself. Tolerance means you don't force your values on peaceful, honest people.

Today, however, others-government is giving us insecurity, conflict and poverty. Let's revitalize our heritage of self-government to create a win-win world where everyone comes out ahead. My Personal Self-Government score is 80%. My Economic Self-Government score is 100%.
