Overview
About Me
I was off CS for a few years due to some frustrations of after hosting many travelers, I had a poor experience getting host to take me. I felt it was my age but who knows. So have decided to try again. Currently I am limited to guest. I have a couch only or air mattress when I am home. I live in a beautiful place. 3 blocks from the Atlantic Ocean and I live on the Halifax river. NOTE: I can only accept guest when I am home. Open to last min request.
PHILOSOPHY
Those who leave this world don't regret what they did...they regret what they did not do!
Do not go where the path may lead, go instead where there is no path and leave a trail.
-Ralph Waldo Emerson
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I live in a tropical PARADISE! Everyday here in Florida is like a vacation day. I am very adventurous and want to see countries and meet people without professional travel agencies. Love hiking, rafting, kayaking, horseback riding and just hanging out. Know how to travel on a very tight budget. Would love to host others who can share experiences/ideas with me.
I am also a host of Warm Showers for traveling cyclist so you can check out my profile there. So I know you read my profile please mention in your request the other website I host for or I may not respond to you.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Climbed Mt. Pakaya, Guatemala and stood too close to flowing lava. Rafted the Gully and New River and survived.. Surf New Smyrna Beach with a Bull shark (he was not invited). Climbed the pyramids in Mexico. Hiked jungles in Nicaragua. Dove in Kona Hawaii at night with Manta Rays...awesome! And just recently ran over a 6 ft alligator (unintentional) in my heavily populated neighborhood. He survived (YEA!) Hiked parts of the Grand Canyon.
Teach, Learn, Share
From a very young age I believed the US was behind requiring school children to learn a second language in elementary school. I was in Aruba about 15 years ago and amazed at young children fluent in 4-5 languages. A local told me " there are 3 kinds of people in this world...the multi lingual, the bi lingual and the Americans". I am so happy we are finally getting in touch with other cultures.
What I Can Share with Hosts
This is a tourist destination. I prefer internationals who are truly traveling to see the world and wish to share their cultures. Or nationals who truly have the CS spirit I grew to know it. If you are a group of spring breakers coming to party, coming to this town to look for a job, or working an event please find different lodging. I am sorry for this change but I have become inundated with request that do not follow what I feel CS is about.
