ABOUT ME

I'm your run of the mill guy. Not your "typical American" so please don't look down upon me just because I'm from a region of the world that not a lot of people are happy with. I love my friends and my family.

I've been back in Minnesota for just over a year now, after spending 18 months living and working in Seoul, South Korea. After that I backpacked S.E. Asia for 6 months and loved every second of it.

Life is about meeting new people, exploring new places, and trying new things.

You trust me. I trust you. Lets agree to believe that there are decent people out there, and to those who aren't, I think Karma really will come back to all of us!

PHILOSOPHY

Everyone I've talked to about backpacking alone says, "aren't you scared you'll get robbed, mugged, someone will hurt you", and I'm tired of it. Is the world so caught up in the fear that people cant be trusted that they stopped TRYING.... Im just a guy who thinks people CAN BE GOOD...

Hopefully the people I meet here will prove me right, and the nay-sayers back here at home WRONG!!!!

At this time... I am spreading the word of the greatness of this site. I think its fantastic that people are willing to open up their homes for a traveler to lay their weary head.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I haven't crashed a couch, nor have I hosted, but I have attended scheduled meetups in 22 cities and 12 countries around the world, and always enjoyed the people I met, and the places I went.

Interests

Here is the cliche answers:
music, friends, tons of sports (baseball, soccer, hockey, golf...) learning new things, meeting new people, traveling.

Not so cliche answers:
I want to step outside my comfort zone, I want to meet people I never would have the opportunity to meet, i wanna taste new food, drink new beer, i want to see new things and try new things and NOT BE BORED anymore! :0)

Music, Movies, and Books

Fight Club, Rounders, Anchorman, Wedding Crashers, 40 Year Old Virgin, Tombstone, A Few Good Men, Rainman, Gladiator, Bourne Series, Oceans Series, All the Bonds, Indiana Jones, Rocky's, Godfather... I'm somewhat of a movie buff... I like everything, I love movies.

Music: My first love is classic rock... Led Zeppelin, Rolling Stones, Bob Dylan, Beatles, The Who... the list goes on... also a fan of 80's, big fan of the grunge movement... love the heavy stuff of today... I love ALL music... an open mind lets me experience all of the great things people create!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Skydiving in Wisconsin has been a GREAT memory.
Looking over the Grand Canyon was breathtaking.
Hiking the Alps 10 years ago... very few images in my memory were as amazing as that.

My entire 18 months in Seoul was incredible!! I met so many amazing people and got to experience so many new and different things that it was possibly the greatest time in my life to date.
