About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Explore. Dream. Discover.

PHILOSOPHY

Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn't do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines, sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I participated in the past by hosting quite a few guests, through couchsurfing and also people I'd met in random places and who needed a place to stay.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I am a peoples person, especially when travelling and this is how I've met many people on my previous journeys. This is how I ended up at people's couches many times. I like to meet people from different countries and cultures so I gladly returned the favor and hosted many people as well.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: adventurous blend of soulful singer-songwriters (Hozier), global traditions (Baaba Maal, Gaye su Akyol), and atmospheric soundscapes (London Grammar, Agnes Obel). Introspective and timeless, with a love for music that carries both cultural roots and emotional weight.

Movies/series: my taste is thoughtful, intense, and diverse, with a strong appreciation for character-driven drama, psychological depth, and socially relevant storytelling. Some genres and examples:
-Dark, psychological, and philosophical themes – Black Mirror, True Detective, The Handmaid’s Tale
-Historical drama – Game of Thrones, Downton Abbey, The Crown, Yellowstone
-Social and political relevance – Homeland, Navalny, Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom
-Mystery, crime, and thrillers – The Capture, Line of Duty

Books: I'm drawn to travel literature and cultural exploration (Sovjetistan by Erika Fatland, Toerkestan solo by Ella Maillart), where history, politics, and human encounters intertwine. I like the occasional thought-provoking non-fiction that make me think critically about society.
I also enjoy the tension of crime and psychological thrillers (Karin Slaughter, Tana French’s In the Woods, Jørn Lier Horst, alongside stories of survival and resilience (Three Day Road by Joseph Boyden, Alive by Piers Paul Read).
One of my favorites: Book of Negroes by Lawrence Hill

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

The highest bungeejump in the world at Bloukrans bridge in South Africa.
Went on a three day trip in the desert of Morocco on horse back.

Teach, Learn, Share

Areas I could teach in: English to students of other languages;
Digital housekeeping: organizing files and email logically, naming them clearly, deleting what’s outdated, and making sure important stuff is easy to find and backed up. I can help people and organizations how to keep their digital spaces—like hard drives, email and shared folders—tidy and well-structured. It’s about saving time, reducing clutter, and avoiding those “where did that file go?” moments!

What I would like to learn: Spanish; organic farming; cooking

What I Can Share with Hosts

Cultural Exchange: Stories and photos from the Netherlands and tell you about daily life, landscapes, and customs.

Practical Skills
