About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Observe and learn.

ABOUT ME

I jumped into travel in college - first time on a plane and essentially first time out of state was to study abroad in England - and haven't looked back.

PHILOSOPHY

Travel is my therapy.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I met many cool couchsurfers when I traveled through New England and Atlantic Canada in 2010. I enjoy paying it forward - more of you need to come visit my town.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I most enjoy traveling when I get to know a community through the people who live there.

Interests

Live music and theatre. Seeing the historical and unique sites of a town. Good conversation over a beverage at a local establishment.
Love a music roadtrip - if you see that one of my favorite bands is coming to your town, you might be hearing from me.
Also hoping that there might be some fellow service club members here - I'm in a Zonta Club and have been in Kiwanis.
Went to college in Winona MN (Winona State) and Iowa City (University of Iowa).

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: Great Big Sea, Carbon Leaf, Gaelic Storm, The Alternate Routes, and other celtic rock and adult alternative bands, especially bands that have been on The Rock Boat.
Books: historical fiction & romance, fantasy, travel guides
Movies: I buy films as part of my job, so can talk about wide range of films even if I haven't actually watched the title.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Although I've been to many places, my favorite trip is still Ships & Dip - a music-festival-on-a-cruise ship - an amazing experience listening to music by favorite bands and getting to know friendly music-loving people. Priceless.

Drove all the way to Cape Spear, the eastern most point in North America, which involved a substantial ferry ride to Newfoundland for the final day of driving.

Teach, Learn, Share

I'm a librarian, so I do like to look things up.
I have a fully stocked spice rack and I know how to use it. Have been known to try out recipes on unsuspecting folks.
I can teach crocheting - lefthanded.

Countries I’ve Visited

Canada, Germany, Greece, Mexico, United Kingdom

Countries I’ve Lived In

United States
