Resumen
Sobre mí
CURRENT MISSION
So after spending my entire life growing up and living in California, I decided to that now was the time to finally take French seriously and get myself abroad. So now I'm living and teaching in the North of France, and hoping to leverage my last few months here by doing and seeing as much as I can!
ABOUT ME
I'm me and I'm kind of just living life and figuring things out. Since coming to France I've made it a goal of mine to travel, see as much as I can, and keep pushing my boundaries. I've got lots of dreams and not a lot of time, so I'm trying to make the most of everything. I find that I am the happiest version of myself while traveling; experiencing new things, exploring new places, and meeting new people.
PHILOSOPHY
Ubuntu.
Ubuntu comes from Southern Africa and in English means "human-kindness" or "humanity towards others." One of its main principles is that all humans are connected to each other; my humanity is tied to your humanity, I am because you are.
I think that embracing the idea of Ubuntu allows for the spread of love, empathy, and understanding, ultimately creating deeper bonds between people and making the world a better place.
Additionally, one thing I've learned from a very dear friend is that life is better when you don't take it so seriously.
Por qué estoy en Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
At the current moment I'm traveling, and therefore looking for awesome people to stay with and learn from. In the future, if I am able, hopefully I'll get to be one of those awesome people who host others. The idea of couchsurfing, and by extension cultural exchange, is frankly just really cool. I think everyone stands to benefit from it.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
None! I'm counting on true European hospitality to give me my first impressions of the experience!
Intereses
I like people, adventures, laughing, reading, good conversations, beer, chocolate, all kinds of music, dancing, traveling and tea, among many other things.
Also, before I moved to France I hated wine... now... not so much.

Música, películas y libros
Yes, please.
When it comes to movies, I like everything, though I'm not really into horror films. I especially like comedies (romantic, dark, slapstick, they're all great!), "indie" movies, thrillers, dramas, and the occasional action now and then.
Music favorites: Top 40, EDM, acoustic/singer-songwriter, hip hop covers my main interests (though not in any order). Not super into genres that include people screaming at me.
As for books, I'd say my favorite types of books are memoirs, coming of age stories, or other tales of growth, introspection, relationships, etc., whether they are fiction or nonfiction. I also like a good mystery and historically-based books (history major!). Also, Wikipedia.
TEEVEE: This one I can't be as vague with. Scandal, Game of Thrones, 30 Rock, Suits, Orange is the New Black, Downton Abbey, Parks and Recreation, Sherlock, Parenthood, Modern Family, Community, Once Upon a Time, Grey's Anatomy, just as a sampling haha.
Algo increíble que he hecho
I did my first half marathon last year, and that was pretty amazing to me. I'd like to do many more.
Enseña, aprende, comparte
I know California like the back of my hand, and am happy to share my love for the place I grew up and lived in my whole life.
Beyond that, while I'm not an expert on social justice and equality, it's something I am very passionate about and love talking, learning, and sharing about my experiences with it.
I also have a place in my brain where I store random facts about random things. They always make an appearance in my conversations with others haha
