About Me

Hello, I'm Becky.

I am currently doing a 12 month stint of travelling across the globe. When at home I am a regulatory lawyer working for various unions.
I grew up in the middle east but moved back to the UK just in time to become a rebellious teenager. I live in Devon which is in the south west, it is beautiful.
I started backing in November and I am finding it is making me much more of a sociable and laid back person. Cliché to say I know but I am always excited to meet new people especially locals who can tell me about that place, that bar, that movie theatre, that beach.
I enjoy music, I really enjoy going to gigs and music festivals I like all types of live music.
I love finding awesome venues to sit and have a chat with people. I love drinking cider and eating ( OK gorging myself) on great food.
I'm a big fan of street markets and parks places to be active or chill out in.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I am travelling quite a few destinations on this trip and I think couch surfing is the best way to meet people and get insider info. I do not expect any host to feel the need to babysit me, if there is the opportunity to hang out amazing but I completely understand that life, work and taxes get in the way. I am just amazingly grateful to anyone who opens up there home and can give me any reccomandations.

Interests

Music, live music. I am quite eclectic in my taste but have to admit my heart lies with old 70s rock and blues.
Food, great food ( cheaply) wherever I can get it.
Conversation over a pint or a coffee provided the conversation is flowing I'm happy.
People watching, I have been doing a lot of that on my travels and I am ever more curious about the human condition.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

It has to this trip, not sure if that counts as amazing to everyone but I am finding it amazing. One month sledging the next surfing. However narrowing it down Mongolia was incredible and surprised the hell out of me.

Teach, Learn, Share

I have discovered to take chances be reckless but most importantly listen to my gut. People will surprise you for good and bad but closing yourself off means you won't be surprised for the better.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I am able to cook its been a few months but the basics are all there.
I am fully house trained and only live out of a backpack so can't make too much mess (mainly because I hate packing so I don't unpack)
I have some pretty cool stories and pictures of my travels thus far Siberian railway and Asia.
I am friendly and when I get back to the UK I cannot wait to have couchsurfers come to stay.

Countries I’ve Visited

Cambodia, Canada, China, Cyprus, France, Greece, Hong Kong, Ireland, Italy, Laos, Malta, Mongolia, Russian Federation, Spain, Thailand, Turkey, United States, Viet Nam

Countries I’ve Lived In
