Music, Movies, and Books
Musically, I love gentle and chilled things, stuff like Boards of Canada, Bonobo, Bon Iver and Daughter. Willing to try a bit of country, world music and jazz though!
I love those foreign language films, where you really have to focus to understand what's going on - Also, documentaries set in far flung and amazing places, and stories about incredible people. My last favourite film was Salt of the Earth, it was wonderful.
I like Cormack McCarthy, Will Self, Milan Kundera, books that make you think. I'm also writing a book at the moment about my research!
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I used to work in emergency planning before I did my PhD, so I used to write the plans to save peoples lives in emergencies.
Teach, Learn, Share
I teach as part of my university work, but I love to learn and share with others. I'm a bit of a bleeding heart liberal. :)
