About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Find joy in simple pleasures. Expand my horizons, be a good steward to the earth, and serve my community
ABOUT ME
Married for 33 years to Ronnie, we have two wonderful kids, a son, 28 and daughter, 41 (from Ronnie's previous marriage). I grew up in Worcester, MA, and spent many years in the Boston area. Have lived all my live in New England, except for 8 months in Guatemala when I graduated college. My first real job was at an ESL school, where I was constantly meeting people from all over the world, and I still miss that (the people, not the job!)after 30 years, especially because NH is so homogeneous. I'm an accountant by profession and a do-gooder at heart - a bleeding heart liberal who would love to change the world, if only it were possible. Very much into healthy living and eating.
Ronnie is a retired middle school math teacher. He served in the Peace Corps in Iran and spent a total of 3 years there in the late 60's/early 70's.
PHILOSOPHY
I feel strongly about quality of life - better to do (and earn)less and enjoy life than to do (and earn) more and have a stressful life. It's important to have compassion for those less fortunate, and to be a good steward to the earth.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Would love to welcome people to this small corner of New Hampshire, and show you why we love it so.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
We have only had a few experiences, but all have been wonderful. Looking forward to more.
Interests
Cooking, baking, walking, crossword puzzles, knitting.
Nothing makes me happier than spending an evening with good friends, good food, and good conversation. Spend a lot of time surfing on the web, especially at the NY Times, and knitting websites.

Music, Movies, and Books
Musical taste - classical, some jazz, bluegrass, music from around the world, any singing with tight harmonies.
Movies - foreign films, independent films, psychological thrillers. We are Netflix junkies.
Books - novels with women as main characters. Love books by Joanne Trollope, Jodi Picoult, but have to confess I don't read much anymore, I'm so addicted to knitting. . . so now it's audio books only.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Attended an abortion rights march in Washington, DC with my mother and 750,000 other people. It was incredibly awe-inspiring.
