Overview
About Me
I love to create beautiful things, from wood, metal, stone, words or musical notes. I trained as a trumpet player, but have recently taken up guitar. I'm super keen to acquire some more musical instruments on my journeys (especially if they're old and quirky). I'm more than happy to share whatever musical gems I harbour and It'd be great to meet others who are similarly interested.
I'm an animal loving vegetarian with an appetite for fun. I love to have drinks and chat into the night with interesting people. I live an alternative lifestyle, valuing the things that really matter rather than those that society promotes.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
My sister and I are travelling though various countries for my birthday and we are really wanting to meet new people from other cultures. Couchsurfing seems like a great way to gain an insight to the way other people live and to make new friends. It is much more appealing to me than visiting other places and having a superficial experience as a tourist.

Music, Movies, and Books
Music
I have a wide appreciation for music from the renaissance through to now. I particularly enjoy music from the baroque and some indie artists of today. Right now I'm listening to Radical Face. I also enjoy Josh Pyke, Snakadaktal, Matt Corby, James Vincent McMorrow, King Charles, Bon Iver and the list goes on.
Movies
I haven't been watching many movies lately, but I like arthouse movies with optimism at their core.
Books
I love reading memoirs of historical figures especially from 18th century Europe. It is so interesting to escape to times gone by.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Probably one of the coolest things I've done is build an exact replica of an early 18th century flute using the same materials as the original (now in a museum). I then learnt to play it (at least to an extent) and have recorded duets with myself on it. It was so satisfying to play an instrument that I made myself.
Teach, Learn, Share
If you're interested in learning to play the Trumpet I'd be happy to give a lesson or two. I'm not bad on piano and to a lesser extent, guitar, so if you're a beginner on either of these I could give you a few pointers.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I'd be happy to play some music if there is a guitar/keyboard/trumpet around. I'm a pretty mean cook and I'm always up for a chat.
