One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

One thing I've done that shaped who I am today, was a debate class called We the People in high school. Through this class I made lasting friendships and learned public speaking skills that has helped me out throughout my life. In We the People I was in a small unit of four that was given three topics that we then had to write and recite an essay to a panel of judges then had to answer follow up questions, this format emulated a senate hearing. We competed at and won Districts and the State competition leading us to go to Nationals in Washington DC. My unit placed 7th out of 52 in Nationals and my class, made up of 6 units, placed 17th overall.

I am a card game and board game fanatic. I can teach anyone a number of games with just a deck of cards. It is a great way to get to know people and have a good time.
