About Me

My job is in a research group at New York University Abu Dhabi, my position is research assistant focusing mostly on the statistical analysis. I’m working on a novel as well which concentrates on the Balkan wars and its impact on the neighboring Hungary.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

To meet new people and become familiar with different cultures.

Interests

I’m working as sociologist-statistician, so I’m interested in discussing social issues. My secondary job is writing: I’m composing short-stories and sometimes publishing them in journals as well. I like to have thought-provoking talks about literature and arts. I’m interested in history as well, currently I read a lot about the Byzantine Empire.

Music, Movies, and Books

Regarding music I’m omnivorous, but if I had to pick a genre I would say electric swing. When it comes to books, I prefer the Latin American authors like Márquez and Borges. But I’m always open to become familiar with new writers: I just recently read a novel from Vincenzo Latronico (Perfection)!which has instantly become one of my favorite contemporary books. Now, I started reading Wole Soyinka’s works. I don’t really watch too much movies but when I do: Quentin Tarantino is unbeatable for me.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I wrote a book about a fictional Hungarian village for which I was rewarded with the Debut Prize by the Hungarian Writers’ Association.

Teach, Learn, Share

I think meeting new people is always the best opportunity to learn. Uninteresting or boring persons don’t exist, you just have to find the right way for communication

What I Can Share with Hosts

My apartment, a nice view on the sea, and I like to cook on my balcony, so the shared meal could be in the package as
well if the guest is open to it.

Countries I’ve Visited

Austria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Germany, Gibraltar, Italy, Liechtenstein, Romania, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Switzerland, Tunisia, Turkey, Ukraine, United Kingdom

Countries I’ve Lived In

Hungary, United Arab Emirates
