Hey world, I'm Ben. I'm 23 years old, 5'10" tall, and I currently live in Waxahachie, Texas, in the southern Dallas-Fort Worth area. I grew up in Syracuse, NY, though I lived in Cocoa, FL for a summer as well as Ithaca, NY for four years while I attended Cornell University. After graduating in May 2015, I moved to Texas with my best friend to feel out the option of a music career. Though we determined that a music career isn't for us, I'm not done adventuring yet. I recently quit my job as a process engineer and I will be venturing out on a month long, cross-country road trip before returning home to upstate NY to open a distillery with my dad. On my road trip I'll be looking to visit a bunch of distillery tours and poker rooms, but even more so, meet interesting people and have a great time.

I'm into playing drums/music, any physical activities/sports, fancy beers, the red hot chili peppers, and spongebob. I'm a hard worker and I don't have a big ego - I love meeting people from backgrounds different than mine.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

IMPORTANT: I am brand new to Couchsurfing. I joined on July 23, 2016. This is why I have no references or friends :(

I will be venturing out on a month long, cross country road trip beginning around August 10th, 2016. My road trip begins in Dallas, Texas, and will end in Syracuse, NY. Though I do not have a real schedule for the trip, some points I will be crossing are: Phoenix, San Diego, Los Angeles, Las Vegas, Denver, Minneapolis, Green Bay, Nashville, and Washington DC. I'm looking for potential places to have a nap, a shower, and a conversation.

When I return to Syracuse I will be open to hosting people.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I think my upcoming road trip will be the most amazing thing I've ever done. I just quit my first job out of college because I knew it wasn't what I wanted to spend my life doing - that wasn't an easy decision. The two other things I'm most proud of are winning a poker tournament in Daytona Beach, FL, and getting to play a show (as the drummer) at Deep Ellum Brewing in Dallas, TX.
