Sobre mí

CURRENT MISSION

Since in November last year I've been traveling around the world as a member of a small documentary crew. We started in Costa Rica and our goal is to make one full lap, ending in Australia. So far we've documented farmers, gauchos, dancers, artists, chefs, and more to come down the line.

Back home I was a software engineer, but on this trip I've been a camera man, nanny, cook, producer, a really just whatever job comes along.

From April to September I was traveling/volunteering on my own in Europe. For 5 months, I worked on a pig farm in France, volunteered on a sail boat in Sicily, taught English/Chinese in Spain, and met some of the best people I'ver ever had the fortune of knowing.

In September I returned to Los Angeles, and it a lot of way I'm still trying to settle back in. Perhaps after nine months on the road, part of me will always be out there somewhere.

Couchsurfing was a big part of my travel, I think now it's time to give back. This is a wonderful community, and I'm happy to be a member of it.

A few things you should keep in mind before request to stay:
1. If you don't have a verified account or reference, please send me at least your facebook profile. On that note, if you really intend to use Couchsurfing a lot, you really should verify your account. Just having references isn't really enough for a lot of people I know.

2. I don't really take last minute (same-day) requests. If you need an emergency place to stay in Los Angeles, you should contact this group: https://www.couchsurfing.com/groups/west-los-angeles-last-minute-emergency-couches

3. As much as I wish, I simply won't be able to host someone for that long. If you need a place to stay for more than 3 nights, I probably won't be able to accommodate you.

4. If you are staying with me during the week, I do have a day job so I won't be able to do much during the day. I'll be more than happy to show you around on the weekends or suggest places for you, but if you'll have to find ways to occupy yourself during while I'm at work.

5. My places isn't that big, so party of 2 is probably the most I can accommodate. Right now it's just a couch and I have a small air mattress for a single person. I'm getting an airbed soon though.

6. I live near Downtown Los Angeles and I'm pretty close to public transportation and a lot of great places to visit. That being said, the area can also be dangerous. I haven't had any trouble so far, but you should know that Downtown LA is not the happy-SoCal-sunshine-beach kind of place. I'm not trying to scare you away, but it's something you should know

PHILOSOPHY

Slow down, don't be lazy, don't be an asshole.

Por qué estoy en Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I recently came back from 9 months of traveling around the world, during which I've met many CS'ers. Honestly, those were some of my favorite memories. My trip wouldn't have been possible without them, and now it's my turn to contribute back to the community.

Intereses

Hah, this is always tough. Honestly I'm just interested in things I don't know about . There was a time when I was primarily interested in abstract things like mathematics and philosophy. While I still love thinking about those, I've realized during my travels that the greatest mystery is the people around us since everyone is different. So I guess my biggest interest is in people.

Música, películas y libros

way to many, let's just leave this open ended for now

Algo increíble que he hecho

Summiting Kilimanjaro. Everyone says its easy, it's not easy. That was the hardest thing I've ever done.

Enseña, aprende, comparte

Uh...well I'm a software engineer by profession so there's that. I'm a good cook, been saving recipes from everyone on the road so far. I know a little salsa too, and I really miss dancing it. I've been doing sports fencing since college and it's a life long hobby of mine, if there is a club around you please let me know.

I will always share the things I know with people, but most importantly I want to learn from others.
