CURRENT MISSION I have two passions: dancing (swing, blues, etc) and birth. ABOUT ME My friends would tell you I love to make food, I love to play games (but not the boring ones you buy at Target), I cannot for the life of me tell a short story, I laugh a lot, and I am addicted to dancing. I am a midwife, and hope one day to travel the world using those skills. PHILOSOPHY From my great grandpa to my grandpa to my dad to me: "Trust people. Why I'm on Couchsurfing
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE I have couchsurfed as a dancer. Most of the exchanges/workshops are hosted by college swing clubs, and attended by students, so everyone is low on cash, and most people are flexible in their housing needs. We don't have a website like this to go through, if you're part of the dance community, we just figure you're pretty cool. It's a pretty trusting group. I love that. I've couchsurfed in Nashville with a host who also happened to be a dancer. And he made me hot chicken. Great experience! I hosted two lovely gals from Great Britain just before that, who actually directed me to that host. Also so much fun to get to know them!
Music, Movies, and Books
I listen to audio books because I spend so much time in the car. Since so much of my time is spent trying to learn things, I use that as downtime to listen to lots of fiction with occasional non-fiction. I'm currently fuming at The New Jim Crow as I listen and drive. I've just been introduced to the Saga graphic novel and am really liking it. Especially the opening sequence, being a midwife, resonated with me. :)
One Amazing Thing I've Done
Skydiving for my 21st birthday. Visiting Lake McKenzie on Fraser Island off Australia's east coast: clearest water ever. Beautiful! Driving through Panama: it was so GREEN! I hadn't expected that.
Teach, Learn, Share
So, let's see. I can make yummy food because I buy good ingredients and follow recipes. I can teach you to do this, too. :) I can crochet. I love sewing. I could maybe teach you a bit about dancing, but I'm a follow, so I can't help teach to lead much. Not sure what I'd like to learn.

My Interests
Currently I spend my time working, taking casual bike rides and hosting occasional game nights (read: I needed an excuse to hang with my friends, so I feed them and play those interesting games I was referring to.) I also make a monthly trek to Chicago in order to dance: lindy hop and blues. I do know and enjoy social ballroom and latin dances, but blues and lindy are what move me. Iโve also picked up west coast.
