Hello there! My name is Brendan, I'm an avid traveler, 360 photographer, flight school student, retail merchandiser, hockey player, dog lover, and more. I'm passionate about life vlogging and taking in new experiences. I have a lot of stories to tell and love hearing those from others! Involved with cryptocurrency as well, learning more about it every day. I live in metro Detroit, and have previously lived in New York City for 2 1/2 years while going to school. Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm a frequent traveler often finding myself in unconventional accommodations and situations. I like the appeal of Couchsurfing and have known of it for a while, so I decided to give it a try and sign up. I'm not one to be picky on fancy hotels or needing everything perfectly aligned when visiting somewhere, so the concept of Couchsurfing seems like a good fit for me, and I can envision connecting well with others in this community that have a similar traveling mindset. I would love to share my local knowledge and expertise of the area I live in, and would love getting a local's point of view and insight when I'm going somewhere else!

Music, Movies, and Books

Fan of a variety of music, almost anything I can find some appreciation for. Some of my favorites are Duran Duran, Lady Gaga, Rihanna, Train, Zedd, Sublime, KC and the Sunshine Band, Foster the People, Kool and the Gang, OneRepublic, The Weeknd, Jay-Z, Beyoncé, the list goes on.

Favorite movies would definitely include the Dark Knight trilogy and the Hunger Games series. Huge fan of all of those, as well as other DC superhero movies. Loved The Giver, Dodgeball, Limitless, Tower Heist, and any Disney Channel Original Movies!

Favorite books - Hunger Games series, Uglies series, Hatchet, Boxcar Children series, and The Giver.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I drove from the heart of New York City, NY to Albuquerque, New Mexico with only 20 minutes notice this trip was happening prior to departure. Did the entire drive solo, slept in my car along the way and back due to time constrictions (there was no sense in getting a hotel!), and saw more of the United States in that week than I had before in my entire life.

Teach, Learn, Share

I'm great at navigation, travel hacks, flight deals, finding cheap gas, international trips - anything relating to travel you might be interested in learning. I use Google Maps like its oxygen, definitely an area of expertise if you'd like to know something! I can also share my knowledge of 360 photography (heavy user of the Ricoh cameras), cryptocurrency, American politics, international news, NASA and space exploration, and of course any stories one might want to hear.
As for learning I'm very open to hearing how different people live and think, their stories and backgrounds, and finding out about their interests. There's far more to this world that I don't know than that which I do, so listing a specific thing I'd like to learn would be futile - everyone's got something unique to share, and I'd love to take that in wherever it may be!

What I Can Share with Hosts

I'm a very courteous guest, tend to be quiet at first but happy to share with anyone with open ears! I'm very clean, tend to travel lightly (bare essentials), and can help out with any cleaning/dishwashing from my visit for the kind hosts willing to take me in. Often if I'm traveling in the U.S. I'm in a vehicle, so I could share a ride if needed. Love the ability to learn from and share with people from all over, and each new destination is different in what that may be, so probably the most important thing of all I can share is an open mind!
