FYI the reason some of my profile is in Spanish is because I was a Peace Corps volunteer living and working in Peru for 3 years ! I am trying to edit my profile to reflect my updated location, but am having trouble. I was serving in the town of Molinopampa, but as mentioned above -I am moved back to the states and living in Houghton, MI. I'm from the Bay Area, California baybe!!!

Hola a todos! Soy una voluntaria de Cuerpo de Paz en el pueblito (en el campo) de Molinopampa (Chachapoyas, Amazonas, Perú). Hace mas de 1 año estoy viviendo acá y estoy contenta... me encanta mi pueblo, la región, la gente, los paisajes... aunque estoy lejos de mi tierra, siento que tengo todo que necesito aca -familia, amigos, mis animales y huerto...

La única razón que no tengo referencias desde hace 1 año es que no estoy viajando mucho y así no estaba usando "couch surfing" desde llegé acá (jaja y no tenía internet tan lejos de la ciudad). pero creo que si voy a conocer Perú, a través de "couch surfing" sería bonito.

Currently a grad student in an integrated Mechanical Engineering Peace Corps (PCMI) program in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan (Keweenaw Peninsula). Headed to Peru in Sept. for my Peace Corps service as a Water Resources/Sanitation Engr. I'm originally from northern California (born and raised). I love discovering new things and experiencing life.

so much music, where to begin? i have phases every week or so and have been on a Slint, Wire, Fugazi and Peruvian folk kick as of late. i grew up listening to 60s,70s,80s Western music, 90s hip hop and rap, and Carnatic and Hindustani music. at a glance: cocteau twins, the soft moon, lauryn hill, erykah badu, genesis, alex chilton, grimes, tlc, fyc, tribe called quest, marked men, the the, burzum, yaz, squeeze, black sabbath, fleetwood mac... k that's enough...

i typically don't have the patience to watch movies, but when i have: Wallace & Gromit, Goddess (Yonggang), Studio Ghibli, awful B rated horror movies, district 9
i've been proudly living without a TV for 7 years, but i do enjoy: Nova, animanicas, king of the hill, daria, parks & rec, louie, arrested development, TRAILER PARK BOYS (damn i wanna meet Ricky so bad).

I would love to contribute knowledge regarding the following: cooking, fixing things, building things, music, equations of motion, arts and crafts, jewelery making, music? (currently learning ukulele; would love exposure to other musical types), math, printing of all types (intaglio, relief, screen printing), Kannada (language)...

I try to implement this in my daily life: right now my friend is giving me drum lessons in exchange for Indian cooking lessons.

I was traveling in Montana and met some folks (now friends) along the way. In exchange for hosting me, I fixed the motor for their car window. Basically I'm very much into exchange of information, knowledge, etc.
