Why I'm on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING Love the idea of both seeing the world and entertaining new friends. It would be fun to introduce foreigners to all that New Mexico has to offer. I just moved back after a 22 yr sabbatical and look forward to gettin' reacquainted. COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE None really. Did a job in England where I met a young couple I very much grew to know and love. Invited them to come for a visit and in April of 2010 and they took me up on it. They'd planned on a week but an Icelandic volcano kept them here for almost 3. We had a blast and I loved that I could provide them with a place to stay and they weren't like so many other travelers having to eat out and pay for a hotel.
Music, Movies, and Books
Movies: Machete is my new favorite movie! Love The Shawshank Redemption and Scent of a Woman too. Love a good comedy as well. Super Troopers, The Hangover and Joe Dirt are the best! Music: I listen to all types but I'm a rocker at heart. Metallica's my all time favorite. Books: James Patterson is awesome. I enjoy Clive Cussler, Dan Brown and John Grisham too. Recently read Raymond Khoury's The Last Templar and was blown away. A great read!
One Amazing Thing I've Done
Got to spend Ramadan in Dubai which was cool. Saw the world's tallest building which was cool too. While in Aberdeen and taking a walk, I came across a pet shop that specialized in reptiles. Was a trip! (Went back to Aberdeen in March of 2012 and the aforementioned pet shop was closed.)
Teach, Learn, Share
Would love to introduce you to my snakes and show you that they're not evil creatures that will kill you. Well, not all of them. lol I'd like to experience the history of Texas with you or wherever I might end up visiting. I welcome people with children to visit. I've got children too and know how hard it is to attempt to travel with them. There's lots of stuff for kids to see and do too.
My Interests
Traveling of course! I'm a bit of an animal nut and especially love reptiles. I enjoy Mixed Martial Arts and fishing. Play a little Disc Golf too.
