ABOUT ME
After spending my first 30 years in Michigan, I decided to make a change. I had always loved visiting bigger cities (New York, Chicago, Boston, New Orleans. When the 30th birthday hit, I needed to make a change and ended up in Charlotte. Although it's not a metropolis, I enjoy the mix of big city and small town that the area provides. But I still have the drive to see as many places as I can. Living in Charlotte will hopefully afford me the opportunity to see more and more.
I am a middle school teacher and have thoroughly enjoyed my years working with youngsters. I have found a school on a year-round schedule with 4 extended breaks (great for travelling).
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I would like to meet other couch surfers and have people stay with me on occasion. It would be nice to help organize local couch surfer gatherings.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
So far, I am a newby and have no current experience.
Interests
Other things that I enjoy are photography (my apartment is decorated in my own work), writing, nature (love to hike and bike when I can), other sports (esp. volleyball and softball). Any time I can chill out with my friends and have a good time is all right with me. I love the local music scene and really enjoy seeing live music. Charlotte has also afforded me a way to see more culture (opera, galleries and museums).

Music, Movies, and Books
Absolutely all types of music and movies. I have a pretty extensive collection of both.
I'm a big fan of the new memoir craze: Dave Eggers, Augusten Burroughs, David Sedaris; but also love lots of different fiction from classics to contemporary.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Hmm...I followed a bear into the woods just to get a picture of it while visiting Yosemite. (Amazing or amazingly stupid...you decide)
