About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Be a kick-butt featured extra in the film "Olympus Has Fallen"

ABOUT ME

Political junkie. I cannot avoid any conversations about politics. But I don't go about it in a judgmental way; I am sincere in my efforts to understand different perspectives. I'm also quite possibly the most interesting man in the world given the types of careers/jobs I've had: teacher; after-school program coordinator; car salesman; contracted security guard for BP; fine dining waiter; staff assistant to the Mayor of New Orleans; doorman at a swingers club; and movie background artist; and now a USAF aviator. I LOVE sports, roller coasters, travel, and karaoke. And ultimately I try to live my life with the charm of a southern gentleman, the substance of an east coaster, and the style of a west coaster (I know--pretty ambitious stuff). So, shall I reserve you an advanced copy of my first edition memoirs? :-p

PHILOSOPHY

I am a progressive moderate. I tend to vote with liberals in elections. While I support capitalism, I believe it has its limits and necessarily requires a strong yet balanced regime of regulations to prevent abuse as well as provide safeguards for the people. All that said, I'm a pretty chill person. As New Orleans has taught me, "Laissez les bon temps roulez!"

Music, Movies, and Books

Oldies. Motown. Big band music. Trance. Rock. Pop. Hip Hop. Country. Classical. Alternative.

So, so many books....

Movies...I'm working on that (literally, lol)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

1) I once rode the TrenItalia through the Alps in Switzerland during a weekend getaway while I was studying abroad in London. I can't recall seeing a more idyllic setting. The mountains' whitecaps, the pristine lakes. It was unbelievably beautiful. The mountain ranges in Utah are similar, but I still have yet to see mountains as breathtakingly beautiful.

2) In early 2010, I had the rare opportunity to experience mass euphoria, on a citywide scale. I went down to the French Quarter in New Orleans when the Saints won the Super Bowl and experienced the highest of joys and love as an entire City--nay, an entire region--of people all put aside their differences and shared in celebrating a team that represented much more than just the sport it played. This was both a celebration and affirmation of a culture and an identity. A truly amazing time.

3) In early 2009 I traveled back to my hometown of DC for the inauguration of President Obama. I stood in the frigid cold with thousands upon thousands to partake in the historic inauguration and felt the most inspired about politics I've ever felt in my life.
