About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Enjoy Life

ABOUT ME

My friends would tell you that I'm set in my ways, but always willing to explore change and new opportunities. My closest friends know that I am reliable, trustworthy, and a man of my word. I smile frequently and am generally upbeat and happy to live for another day. While I love to interact with others I also enjoy my space and quiet times relaxing. If you need help just ask and I'll do my best to provide it. If you don't, then that's alright too. While I'm fair and honest I don't react well to being taken advantage of. Don't push that button and we're good.

PHILOSOPHY

I accept and welcome all people in my life until I feel my well-being jeopardized. Kharma seems real....

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I love to meet new peeps, travel, and do/see new things.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Some great experiences at this point... hoping to see them grow! I have non-CS guests on a regular basis so ability to host is not an issue as long as I have space/time available.

Interests

While at home I am a Special Ed. TA and coach both baseball and wrestling for the Liverpool Central School District. This allows me to have my summers off and the opportunity to explore. I love most things about nature...camping, hiking, canoeing, biking, running, swimming, walking, and so many other things...you get the picture Health, wellness, and physical fitness are a big part of my life. I have been a Licensed Massage Therapist for 20 years now. I have met so many wonderful people through my part-time practice...I feel very fortunate. I own a two-family home in the Village of Liverpool which I am very passionate about. In it is a 250 bottle wine cellar that I built....yummmmmm!!! I love to explore wine regions and the occasional pit stop at a micro-brewery along the way is cool by me. I actively participate in runs and triathlons, but the experience is more about pleasure than pain. Reading the daily news for both local and national information is part of my routine, but reading a good book usually extends for an abnormal amount of time. Something to improve on...LOL! Lastly, I'm always intrigued to meet and interact with new people and provide a welcome environment for those who reciprocate and seek the same. Innocent until proven guilty in my world. oh...and I enjoy the therapeutic values of cooking...love to eat.

Music, Movies, and Books

I stay in tune with the local and national news by reading the daily paper. Small and shorter doses of reading seem to benefit me the most. Novels seem to circumvent access to the back of my eyelids rather quickly...zzzzzzz! Not that I don't try from time to time...

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Ok...I can't share just one....A few years back I swam 1.5 miles from Alcatraz and ran 7 miles across the Golden Gate and back while participating in the Alcatraz Aquathon. The beauty of it was taking it all in as I finished second to last, but got it done. I have been known to be competitive by nature, but over time I have found a relaxing state of mind that gives a different perspective to "races". By slowing it ALL down and utilizing all my senses during the process I find the experiences much more enjoyable. My other project that has taken the better part of 20 years is my pursuit to enjoy a game at every major league baseball stadium. In July 2013 my quest became complete when I attended a game at the new Marlins stadium in Florida. The stadium tour is complete until a new one is built, but several years back I began another pursuit as I traveled to visit stadiums. My trek began to include visits to several of the National Parks that our beautiful USA has to offer. I imagine the rest of my life will include the attempt to see them all!
