I recently retired and am moving to Hawaii to live aboard a sailboat that I purchased in Honolulu a few months ago. I plan to continue working part-time, to offset cost of living, as a SCUBA instructor and charter captain. I will be living in Honolulu for 2-3 years as I prepare my sailboat for a voyage across the Pacific Ocean to New Zealand.

Why I'm on Couchsurfing
I had temporary housing arranged with the gentleman that I purchased my sailboat from, however, he had a tragic accident last week while SCUBA diving and passed away. I need a place to stay for a few days while I look at apartments, try to find a used vehicle, and try to find a live aboard slip for my sailboat. I am clean, organized, quiet, and respectful of others. I also like the idea of couch surfing as a way to learn about the area from people who have lived there for a while.
