About Me

Note: If you want to meet up then comment on one of my event or write something specific. I will not answer to people just writing "Hi." ;-)

CURRENT MISSION

I want to meet new people, and continue to experience new interesting places around the world. I also like showing my own city and world to people.

ABOUT ME

Me:
I'm currently 35., living in Copenhagen with my husband and 5 y.o son.

I love travelling and new experiences, and travel both to new places and to old 'favorites'.
I'm living with my husband, Morten, who is a Biophysics PhD, now teaching math and physics. He has been a one year exchange student in Ecuador when he was 17.
He's very active, doing Capoeira, Gymnastics, Slackline and Rollerskating..
Our son Leander is 5 years old (born march 2014) and is as active as his father while i try to keep up. Leander puts a lot of lego together in very inventive ways, he is very outgoing and usually charm all in his surroundings.

We both love talking with people, whether over a beer or when meeting people while traveling. It seems like a nice next step to open up our apartment for couchsurfers, but it is not really possible because of a lively five year old taking up time and space in our small apartment... ;)
For now we don't have much time and space for visitors, but we hope to be able to meet and host people in the future :)

PHILOSOPHY

Two mottoes:
'Carpe Diem', have fun and break loose if the opportunity arrive.
'At rejse er at leve' ('to travel is to live') H. C. Andersen. I SO much agree!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I will try to help people have an enjoyable stay, when they are visiting Denmark and/or the Roskilde Festival.
I will also try to bring a little bit of 'Danishness' out into the world.

When travelling: I'd love to meet locals who will share there favorite spots in their city, and other foreigners to get lost with.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have yet to try true CouchSurfing, but have stayed with friends in different countries several times, and once borrowed a living room floor from a friendly couple in Narbonne, French Cote d'Azur, during a snowstorm in march.

Interests

Biology, Nature, Sciences, the Sea and the incredible animals living in it. I see aquaculture as a way to enable more nature to survive, and through my studies I wish to help make Aquaculture more sustainable.

My husband (and son sometimes) do Capoiera, a brasilian martial art which sometimes look more like breakdancing.

We sometimes have time for kajaking, snorkelling, biking, swimming in the harbour, etc.
Slacklining and other juggling fun (which i'm terrible at).
Picnics and spontanous BBQ in Copenhagen happens very often, as often as we can when the weather is right.
Movies, Concerts, Music, learning new Languages, Reading (especially Sci-Fi, Fantasy and Historical reading, but anything goes)
The Roskilde Festival, now 15? years in a row, mostly as Volounteer.
Meeting old and new friends and exchanging stories and cultural differences.

Music, Movies, and Books

Our collection of books (the 'Library') contains every kind of book, but is heavily weighted towards SciFi, fantasy and historical novels. This goes for our DVDcollection as well, adding some Pixar and animation movies as well as a collection of Japanese Miyazaki.
Concerning music and concerts our taste is pretty wide. The yearly 'must-do' is the Roskilde Festival, 100.000 people, all run by 27.000 volounteer workers. I have been volounteering there for 15 years now, and can't seem to stop ;) I can help with finding volounteer work as well..

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Biking the Shimanami Kaido bike bridge-bikerute in Seto Inland Sea in Japan.
Walked an unturisted part of the Great Wall near Beijing.
Seeing a small furry animal on a branch one metre away in rain in Costa Rica
Swimming over a cliff and seeing a 2 metre shark 3 metres below me.

Teach, Learn, Share

I generally love showing people around and share my favorite spots in the city and surroundings, either as recommendations, or as a 'field' trip.
You'll probably leave knowing more than you wished for about marine animals, though (just a warning ;)
