Overview
About Me
I live together with Markus, we are married since 2009 and are looking forward to welcoming guests in our flat! I am forty (born 1976) and he is sixtythree years old.
He`s from switzerland an I came here due to him. We live in a beautiful surrounding. Our flat ist in the middle of the village of Hombrechtikon. Hombrechtikon lies near the lake of zurich - you can see the mountains with their snowy heads. There are many possibilities for having a nice walk around through meadows, hills, forest. There ist a lake in the midst of beautiful landscape for swimming only 10 minutes from our place, the lützelsee.
I myself work many hours a day as gardener - so we will meet only in the evenings / on sunday. Markus works two days a week and has more time to share with you. He only speaks a little english, that`s important to know!
Markus has worked thirty years on the zurich airport as airplane-truckdriver. He still likes to drive and has the licence to drive everything from motorcycle to bus and truck. Apart from that, he loves animals and he is a magician.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I want to
- meet new people & learn to know different ways of living and beeing.
- connect, talk, share our home
- share what`s alive in us.
I like to welcome people in our home, and, if you like, to cook & eat together and to show you around in the hills of the "Zürcher Oberland" (that`s how this region is called).
I am looking forward to stay with people, why travelling, becauce it means connecting to a place and people in a deeper way.
Interests
My big five for life (the most important things, I want to do):
A - Agriculture in community: connecting growers and consumers in solidarity, trust, appreciation (CSA)
L - Living words: to tell stories, inciting the imagination, creating a world inside us, inspiring to evolve ourselves
I - Intercropping Garden: to create a forest-intercropping-community garden (permaculture)
V - Vital food & ecosystem: to care for the soil, the plants, the animals and men in a biodynamic way of agriculture
E - Empathic and self-conscious communication: connecting to our needs and finding solutions fitting for the well-beeing of everyone (nonviolent communication / Marshall Rosenberg)
Music, Movies, and Books
I like to read generally: to plunge inside other people`s worlds. Some Books I really liked: Harry Potter, shantaram, the lord of the rings, the memory of running by Ron MacLarty, books of Fred Vargas and Walter Satterthwait.
Reinhard Mey, a-capella music from the King`s Singers and the comedian harmonist to the wise guys, sometimes klezmer and classical music, folk - in short: music, which is skilfully made by voice and hand.
Some movies I liked: Dead poets society, Much ado about nothing by Kenneth Brannagh, More than honey and We feed the world.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I made a sabbatical in 2005, travelling in summer as whoofer in england and working on the stage of the goetheanum in Dornach / Switzerland.
Teach, Learn, Share
I just found a saying from Ghandi, I like very much:
- Live as if you were to die tomorrow
- Learn as if you were to live forever
I can share most of all knowledge about the art of storytelling and also the art of breathing / voice-work.
I am still learning more and more about agriculture and vegetable-growing, biodynamics, permaculture and like to have an exchange of ideas about that.
I am also still learning the art of nonviolent communication and it`s a pleasure to talk about that too, if someone is interested.
