About Me

CURRENT MISSION

I'm almost 30 and I need to see the world before that happens.

ABOUT ME

I'm rather quiet and spend quite a bit of time in my own head.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I'm new to couch surfing. I've heard great things, so I'm interested in meeting great people in my travels.

Interests

I love photography. I don't claim to be a professional, but I spend much time and energy with my camera. If you would like to see any of my photography you may look at my Instagram (@brock.photo).

Music, Movies, and Books

I'm a pretty big movie buff. I will watch anything once. I really enjoy well written dramas, but I also regularly consume comedies. I like to consider my tastes eclectic. I actually make bad science fiction movies for a living, so I can appreciate a poorly executed film almost as much as a masterpiece. If you've never seen The Room, do yourself a favor and find a copy. It is the worst movie ever made and it's wonderful for it. At the same time, if you haven't yet seen Life of Pi, you're missing out on an instant cinematic classic.

My music tastes are also pretty eclectic. It would be difficult for me to pick a favorite artist or genre. If I like a song, I'll listen to it. If I don't, I won't. Many times I find myself completely enthralled with a specific song by one artist, but don't enjoy anything else they have recorded. On a daily basis, I may jump from Tool, to Regina Spector, to Dr. Dre, to The Ink Spots, and never once even notice the drastic difference.

I don't read as often as I should. There are so many other things to do that can be done simultaneously, but reading is something that requires focus. It's hard for me to find the time to dedicate to reading. However, I love JRR Tolkien's works and I try to find time to at least listen to the audio books relatively frequently.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I had an online friend jokingly invited me across the globe to Estonia. About a month later I was there, alone, with little planned out. This is definitely the craziest thing I've ever done.

Countries I’ve Visited
