Overview
About Me
CURRENT MISSION
I want to indulge my curiosity without disrespecting others.
ABOUT ME
was born in Connecticut but spent my childhood in coastal Massachusetts. My family moved to San Diego when I was 12 and I spent middle school and high school there. I came up to San Francisco to go to culinary school and loved it so much here that I decided to enroll at the University of San Francisco rather than continue on to the University of Miami (from which I had deferred in order to attend culinary school). I am a writer.
I'd have a hard time deciding whether to call myself an introvert or an extrovert. I can be very calm -- probably one of the calmest people I know -- and contemplative, but I'm also very adventurous. I like to travel, meet people, and I love to try new things, especially food. I'm very curious and have a dry, sometimes quirky, sense of humor. My ancestry is mostly Scottish.
PHILOSOPHY
Everything in moderation.

Life is what happens when you've made other plans.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Now that I have more time to travel and explore, I am trying to get into couch surfing. I also enjoy hosting courteous guests.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I have hosted and stayed and enjoyed both.
Interests
figs, travel, writing, blowing up marshmallows in the microwave, singing along to music in the car, dancing, shiny things, garage sales, baby animals (especially when they do human things like sneeze), making bad decisions, antiquing, making bad decisions while antiquing, miniature versions of things (like deodorant and booze), intelligent people who don't bore me to death, collecting vintage cookbooks, scrabble, building indoor forts...

Let's leave something to discuss!
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I performed a pregnancy test on a cow. I made a wedding cake. I pulled a carrot out of the ground and it was one of the most satisfying experiences I've ever had.
Teach, Learn, Share
Austin is home to some of the weirdest, friendliest people I know.
