About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Take care of my two new grandbabies, make Cleveland an even greater city through my volunteer activities, see as much as the world as possible, and meet interesting people.
ABOUT ME
Hi. My husband and I live in the Detroit Shoreway neighborhood of Cleveland and have for 28 years - in a big house that was built in 1906. We have two adult kids! . I just retired from working at a non-profit community development corporation to help them with childcare. I love traveling, especially with my daughter. I love to garden. We've got a vegetable garden, fruit trees and berry bushes in our backyard and we keep 2 chickens. We live in an awesome neighborhood that is teeming with beekeepers, chicken keepers, community gardens, etc. and 6 years ago we all created a community orchard on vacant railroad land and we just finished a reading garden on a vacant lot next to an elementary school. I know Cleveland and it's neighborhoods very well through my work and from living in the city my whole adult life.
PHILOSOPHY
People are good at heart. Be kind. Work to make the world a better place.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
We really enjoy hosting couchsurfers at our home and do it as often as we are available. I have couchsurfed in Charleston,WV, Santa Barbara, CA, Manchester, England and Poznan, Poland. We have enjoyed all of the experiences and the great people we have met. I think a way to promote world peace would be to have leaders of countries couchsurf with one another!
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Have hosted couchsurfers since joining in Feb 2012. They have all been interesting people and I love hearing other people's travel stories. What an amazing way to get to know a place and different people.
