About Me
I've been travelling for a few years now and although I've often considered Couch Surfing it hasn't really worked out. I'm now in a position where I can offer a couch so I'm doing just that.
There are a lot of things I haven't grown out of yet. If I have my way I never will.
Interests
I used to be a little bit Buddhist - it's pretty much the go-to philosophy for people who aren't too keen on there being a god, after all - though lately I've been migrating more to Stoicism. There are some serious parallels to Buddhism, for sure, but I'm finding it's approach to life to be a lot more personally relevant.
One of the big things I've been working on lately is weight loss and this is a war I am winning decisively though the battles be fierce and the price several foods I thought I loved.

Music, Movies, and Books
Some authors I have particularly liked: Joseph Heller, Douglas Adams, Terry Pratchett, Neil Gaimen, Neil Stephenson, Isaac Asimov, Arthur C Clark, Heinlen, Aldous Huxley, George Orwell, Mervyn Peake, Ray Bradbury, Chunk Palahniuk, David Sedaris, Susanna Clarke, Margaret Atwood, Frank Miller, Allen Moore, Haruki Murakami, Seth Grahame-Smith, Raymond E. Feist and Yann Martel.
Despite how much I miss actual books, my Kindle is now my favourite toy in the whole wide world.
I like music a lot, as well, and lots of it. Some (but definitely not all) favourites are Leo Kottke, Crash Test Dummies, Diana Krall, Medeski Martin & Wood, John Scofield, Mark Knopfler, Miriam Clancy, Duffy, Johnny Cash, Dean Martin, Sage Francis, Pet Shop Boys, Amy Winehouse, Nick Cave, Beastie Boys, David Bowie, The Beatles, Robbie Williams, The Flaming Lips, Groove Armada, Emiliana Torrini, BT, Infected Mushroom, Cherry Poppin' Daddies, Big Bad Voodoo Daddy, Chris Rea, Kenna, Madonna, Rhombus, Salmonella Dub, Tom Jones, The Magnetic Fields, Kaiser Chiefs and Lupe Fiasco.
I also listen to a bunch of different podcasts but some always go to the top of the listening list - Savage Love by Dan Savage, Radiolab, This American Life, The Bugle, Criminal, Here Be Monsters.
I absolutely love movies but I'm not finding a lot of time to watch them lately. Finally got around to watching Brick and loved it.
There are some TV shows that catch my eye as well like The Venture Brothers, 30 Rock, Arrested Development and Dexter.
Love games of almost all persuasions - card, board, video and live games. The one exception really has to be mindgames; I'm shit at those.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Loaded up a tent and sleeping bag on my motorbike and hit the road for a month. Rode from Vancouver to Inuvik (and from there, Tuktoyaktuk), then around Alaska and back to BC via Alberta.
