Overview
About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Traveling in search of the best breakfast. Oh and making my way out to DC.
ABOUT ME
Background in journalism, language pedagogy, and politics. Loves nature, but not too much. Spent much of the last 20 years living by the beach. Spontaneous. More silly than wacky, actually. Lactose intolerant. ENTP.
PHILOSOPHY
Life is what you make of it.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I tried it once in Turkey and the camaraderie was amazing. I try to experience the world through different perspectives. To laugh at jokes that need no translation, to take comfort in a collective consciousness of welfare and charity, to feel the divine in a moment of banality -- these are all possible with genuine human connection.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Enjoying the sunset at Angkor Wat. The Democratic National Convention in Philadelphia as a delegate for Bernie Sanders. Beating Chinese bureaucracy and escape Shanghai despite losing all forms of government-issued identification.
What I Can Share with Hosts
Friends are always asking me to visit and cook for them. I would happily acquiesce to such requests from hosts or surfers.
